People complain about anything that isn't core corridor-shooter warframe.
People complain about 'content bubbles' that are isolated snippets of content and rewards that don't reach much beyond the state they were released in.
People complain about anything that is even tangentially connected to archwings.

Railjack is all of these.

I like it too, though.
Only time I ever play railjack is to kill my lich/sister.

Most of the time if I try railjack in public. The hosts railjack is weak and gets destroyed quickly. I don't even know if RJ missions have anything worth grinding for.
there's a bunch of issues that are very easy to complain about; it's buggy, has a isolated power progression that matters nowhere else, can be a resource sink, is blatantly designed for team based play and DE has borderline abandoned it at this point.
I also enjoy doing Railjack stuff, but it's just an unfortunate fact that there's a lot stacked against it.

Uh, yes. yes they do. the Relics for Valkyr and Nyx prime (and their associated weapons) are found in Railjack optional stuff, there's a bunch of weapons like the Athodai and the Pennant (along with some variants like the Carmine Penta and the Spectra Vandal), Sevagoth, his weapon and the Nautilus are stuck in Railjack stuff, and the only remotely feasible way to farm the corrupted holokeys used to buy Ergo Glast's selection of Tenet weapons is through high level Void Storms.
It's kinda a problem since people wanting this stuff that don't like railjack are forced through a painful farm they want nothing to do with.

As @Midas mentions, not every player hates railjack. I also enjoy flying around in my funky torpedo-boat and wish for moaar.

Things I hope to see some day in Warframe's railjack gameplay:
  • Maps that are larger in all three axes, especially greater depth in the Z-axis.
  • Optional, explorable structures farther above or below the middle region, and maybe even Easter eggs near the edges of the playable volume of space or hidden inside a ruined structure.
  • Maps that contain historical Easter eggs, such as Voyager 1 or 2. A secret Mir or an up-gunned Almaz space station that the West never learned of. Maybe we find a long-defunct James Webb that drifted out of a parking-orbit or a remnant of a fictional kill-vehicle from an alternate 1980s "Star Wars" program that never got shut down. A stealth-Tiangong flown by China, Vast Space's Haven-series commercial station, the ISRO's Bharatiya Antariksha Station, JAXA's Mitsui JSSM, or any other planned space vehicles that are being developed.
I know, I know! This is very much wistful, wishful thinking but a turbo-nerd often dreams of things they may never see, come to life (or in entertainment media).

terrible ground mission integration on the corpus side, doesn't reuse the awesome railjack segment from new war, criminally under utilizes 4-5 unique tilesets and ships; corpus ice mines, corpus auto factory, murex, grineer asteroid interior, infested tower derelict...
lack of objective variety and lacking any tests of piloting skill. armament are useless, and the non standard ones seem to slide off enemies, railjack abilities have a distinct meta spam making the force irrelevant at high levels

To the OP: Its because of its rocky launch and it not meeting preconceived notions of what it would be admittedly in part because of things shown by DE in their ambitious aims at the start of its designing. Those two things soured certain people against it regardless of the improvements made to it. Which is exactly why there's slowly a tide shift happening where newer people are avoiding those aspects to see the 2.0 version and liking it. I personally like the mode and want to see it expanded with a natural & clear thing it could be expanded into via Invasion missions; but for that to happen DE needs to know that there's interest and good response towards it. As that is what moves the needle to maybe get it revisited.

Not really, since there's now the AI squad you can grab & upgrade. I run missions solo w/ them and do just fine, originally it was more team-pushing; but in 2.0 form its much more approachable. Also while its been put on a back-burner w/ no future plans outside of the Techrot Encore Techrot tiles for it, Steve and Reb did seem at least to be keeping an eye on it as the tide has started seemingly turning towards people showing interest and being positive towards it. Not abandoned but also not a priority, if there's interest shown it's possible to have it revisited in the future and the best time to show said interest is once Techrot Encore launches by engaging with the missions for it that involve RJ.

I agree and disagree with many things you mention, but this particular bit is just a hard no. I don't want to have anything like this if its meant like skill checks. I want fun not Dark Souls pilot edition.

I don't really hate Railjack. It is just that the time needed to complete the mission and the rewards are not going together. I only play Railjack now mostly because I can only get some rewards on Railjack. So I had to play them.
Truly the only problem I ran into was trying to get into it without help from a better ship. Trying to progress normally requires a lot of luck for getting good parts and mods for your ship powers, hell there's still a ship power slot I have no mods for.

Very cool but unfortunately isolated mode

You can clear just fine solo, but it'll be slower than a team because you can't shoot down crewships and raid an objective at the same time with AI crew, it has to be strictly one thing at a time, and often that one thing will be "oh look, my Engineer got downed again, time to warp out to clean up/revive and then run back in to get back to the objective.
The AI crew do enough, but not nearly as much as real players.

Sometimes my npc's don't take care of the ship. I will stop driving to put out fire then look at the npc staring at a wall. You really gotta rush missions fast. Doesn't help that they are also made of tissue paper.

It doesnt live up to it's potential

I mean that's convenience not that the entire mode difficulty-wise is aimed at teams, the reason I'm clarifying this is anyone that hasn't interacted with it yet and could misunderstand. Though I will say that I've never had an engineer get downed, had Defenders get it. Regardless I've never had to or wanted to squad up with other players, the only mode that's gotten me aggravated is Volatile and that has nothing to do with ship combat.

Length of the missions are much longer but rewards are not any greater. I tried Fissures but efficiency to run many in short time wasn't good. There are about 3 Railjack skins, not that many guns and very little mods... can you even mod the cannons?

It is fun but all upgrades are quickly farmed and DE has stopped giving any updates to Railjack.
massive content island that doesn't really offer much else aside from MR fodder

there's definitely potential for it to be good however
