30 is full for regular weapons, legendary add to thirty when it comes to overleveling weapons (31/62 for L1).

Legendary ranks do NOT add mod capacity. Overleveling is for Kuva and Tenet weapons, Necramechs, and Paracesis.
All ranks do is increase the minimum capacity as you're leveling them. If you're MR30, an unranked weapon will still have at least rank 30 capacity. If the weapon has been leveled to 30, it has its full capacity regardless of the owner's MR. And then if they stick a forma into it, it goes back to the owner's MR minimum.

If you mean capacity, then no, not at the moment

Unranked weapons start with free capacity equal to your rank, including weapons that can be levelled up to 40, so there won't be any cap until L10 (rank 40) is possible.

New ranks take exponentially more exp than previous ranks, so this could take a very long time to reach, assuming the game lives that long

How does this apply to frames?

"This also applies for Legendary ranks on equipment whose ranks can be increased above 30. For example, Legendary 1 increases the minimum capacity to 31 (62 with an Orokin Reactor/Catalyst)"

So, uh, yeah... It does.

Same way. If you're MR30 and get a brand new frame, you get all 30 points right away and still available even after the forma. Legendary ranks also add on top of "frame" like equipment like Necramechs and adds extra capacity accordingly just like overleveled weapons.

cool cool was just thinking how it worked

You continue to get them past MR30, but only for equipment that supports it. Say you are L3, which is MR33. Your warframes and most of your weapons will still have 30 max capacity. When you obtain a new kuva weapon (or similar) it will only have 30 capacity. When you forma that kuva weapon, giving it a max capacity of 32, it's current capacity will instantly jump up to 32. When you forma it again, it will jump up to 33 capacity, and you will have to level it up to 34 or above to access the rest.

Assuming you are referring to Mastery Ranks at the end there, you are very wrong. The increase per Rank is not only not exponential at any point, increasing by exactly 5000 points every rank, it stops increasing after MR29. MR 30 and all Legend ranks cost the same amount of Mastery as MR29 does. It will still take a long time to get to L10, but only because the points per rank is already high (almost 150K per rank, or about 10 warframes and 30 weapons per rank), not because it is getting higher.
