how do you keep lavos alive in sp?
got my lavos prime ready to go, but he feels kinda squishy and just wanted to know what your general go to is when you want to keep frames alive.

i currently run fast deflection/arcane aegis/primed redirection/nautilus to shield tank basically everything and it has been working, but i feel as if there should be easier and more readily available ways to get there. probably more reliable ways as well, as there can very well still be situations in which all the procs just give away to let you taste the barrage of pain. personally, i'm aware that shieldgating exists and how to do it, but it stresses me out whenever i have to do it, so i'd rather not. was just curious, not a new player btw, so later-game-grinds are definitely doable, if necessary.

Lavos' 1 heals him so a lot of people I've seen make sure they have the augment in for the shorter cool down

Adaptation, Arcane Grace, Arcane Guardian. Live forever.

3 Umbral mods + Adaptation

How do I keep him alive in SP? By building into his already high armor and health. He can take an incredible amount of punishment if you, you know, build into his strengths.
shield tanking is much better than health tanking, get arcane aegis from belly of the beast event

Nonsense. Health tanking is better vs anything below level 500 as long as you have decent hp and armor that can resist 80%+

I run all my frames that can like that in SP and never die. Also no need for shield gating shenanigans.

Shield tanking with arcane aegis is infinitely worse if you can tank with armor of over 50% resist. Shield only has 50% resist and cannot be increased. The shoeld pops instantly and you're better off using shield gating instead.

Or use secondary fortifier if you're having trouble.

3 umbral mods, adaptation, health conversion (1350 armor), arcane grace, arcane guardian, arcane blessing, Vazarin has a bunch of hp regen nodes. Companions, Wyrm with Negate.

Panzer with Hunter Recovery & Viral quills can regen an insane amount of hp.

The only way you can push Lavos to level cap is Vazarin, with protective sling.

Health tanking works fine at max level, also. I don't do max level often because it's tedious, but I do when a friend drags me into them, and Lavos can handle that just fine. Hell, I'm usually the one picking their shield gate tank ass up off the floor.

you are not health tanking level cap on lavos, at level cap even max resist get one shot
Considering inflicting status effects is Lavos' whole deal, Healing Return on a good melee weapon would probably do it. A stack of armor and health combined with Adaptation and Rapid Resilience (unnecessary for Lavos) makes a great substrate for this sort of healing. The more you attack, the more you heal. That's basically how I keep my Valkyr alive most of the time.

Who ever goes to lvl cap except youtubers who waste a whole day in one endless mission
health tanking is pretty comfy, lavos has good stats for it
if you have triple umbral i think that gets him to 1890 armor (86% DR) and 2240 health.
arcane grace and adaptation helps a lot with survivability up till like level ~300-500 on Steel Path i think depending on how much armor/health you have.

going further after that requires a few more stages of damage reduction to levelcap (eclipse/null star subsume, arcane double back - all 75% DR when subsumed if ability) or more armor alongside a high health pool lol (health conversion, 3-5 armor shards, arcane tanker/guardian/reaper/etc.)

i wouldn't worry when people complain about health tanking at levelcap, SP starchart doesn't even really reach level 300 and the only stuff higher I think is when you do the secret bosses like 60 eyes or apex tank. If you really want to health tank levelcap i'd suggest other frames with innate DR abilities or inaros instead.
Ghostaga on youtube has some good vids so you can see what can be used to bring health tanks to levelcap if you want to be more extreme

Either health tank with Adaptation and Arcane Blessing or just use Evade
Adaptation+Armor does really well. Can go for about an hour in Mot or Circulus, once you start getting into territory where stuff really hurts, use something like Magus Repair and CC (rad 3 or 4) to survive. Rolling guard and his 2 can be used together, too.

Evade is awesome on Lavos because the cooldown reduction affects Evade's cooldown, so Transmutation Probe and Swift Bite will let you recast Evade before it runs out.
