It would appear so, based off of Ducat price per item sold by baro and number of important mods sold per visit, compared to Ducat value of prime items and time needed per item. Which is added on top of the FOMO of everything else needed to be done before daily reset, in order to move progression along. If you don't, you will often be punished with one or two months of focus leveling daily caps up on one group, while being forced to ignore other areas, just to get access to important gear.

And no, using plat to buy mods is not an acceptable explanation to the issue of Prime mods being gate kept by the Baro mechanic. Since the time needed to gain prime parts, list for sale and spend hours hopefully waiting for someone to pay you the 5, 10, maybe 15 plat for something, so that you can, someday, buy the 100p-200p prime mod, is as much as a time sink as Ducats.

Baro is DE's way of saying to the one, or three hour-a-day, after work player, like they symbolically said to the wild dogs with the Bite mod drop %, we really REALLY don't like you.

DE keep getting thing easier to obtain for most of people.
game isn't supposed to be speedrun.
most of item/frame/mod are optionnal.
plat are easy to farm,and you can easily make 5-15(up to 40-60 with gold part) per 5-10min


prime mod are High-end version of classic mod ,not even needed to make a build working,it's just to go even further in the powercreep.
talking about FOMO in WF in purely badfaith(some deluxe/ skin aside ),and just on this sentence, nobody should take what you said seriously.

in the end, it's a you problem if you need to unlock something to enjoy the game instead of enjoying the game while unlocking things..

There's barely any FOMO in this game. Gameplay changing stuff is available always. It's not gone forever

About 100 hours after returning to the game, I started solo'ing a few Void Fissures each week to pop Relics for shiny stuff. I keep the parts and blueprints I need/want and then exchange all the spares at the Relays in order to get ducats.

While waiting for Barro to reappear, I consistently obtain enough ducats to buy at least one of whatever weapons, Primed mods, or cosmetics that he offers. Sometimes I make enough to get several.

I am not yet geared-up enough to breeze through the Fissure missions but I don't often fail, either.

what about the overpriced prime bundles ?
what about said prime bundles with 2 90 day boosters in it that makes the majority of the prize while the stuff someone want makes the minority of it ?

This is a skill issue.

Learn how and when to farm properly, you can get 1000 ducats in like thirty mins, even more if you make a list of your relics ahead of time (use steam's overlay list). You can also get months worth of forma bps, too.

so im a month and some change in this game.

the first time i encountered baro, i asked how this all works, checked what i got so far, and what i can do to get more relics easily, and then just ran some quick ones for a day to be able to purchase one of those primed mods.

no skill issue involved. the last visit of baro i had almost 2k ducats ready to go, but i missed a bunch ( a lot! ) of credits for the primed mods on offer, so i went into the index and did some easy pseudo capture the flag there for big moolah.

ill be honest. once you figure out how this all works, there is no skill issue anymore.
