we need a "save password" check box
every single modern game client logs in automaticly, yet warframe forces us to re-type our password everytime

this is hurting security, there is no possible safe password that i can rembeber or that i am willing to re-type everey single time

warframe gives me only one option: use a easy to rembember unsafe password

so e.g. my blizzard password are 18 random characters and symbols, yet my warframe password is : password13

i don't understand why they don't add this simple feature

steam, blizzard, glyph, minecraft, every online gaming service?client i have logs is automaticly, that way you can create a secure hard to brute force password

there is no good argument to not save the password, most hacks happen because people use weak passwords, not ebcause the client saves them

but i am sure all those others are doing it wrong and only you are right
that is still not all modern games mate.

oh you poor baby. To fcking lazy to type. change your password to something shorter. if someone wants to hack your account theyll do it regardless of your PW length. stop being stupid.
OP does kinda have a point though. The easier/shorter your password is, the easier it is to hack. But that should be on OP.

Funny enough, I once accidently typed my password into my friends chatbox since steam somehow glitched the overlay window, luckily enough he was a trustworthy friend and I changed my pass. At least it was not on a public Discord server...

doesn't matter which way is more secure, game must have the option 'remember password' and let player to choose!

The topic is still relevant, so why is it an issue?

thats why you are free to not tick auto remember. but if you tick it, an info pops up and says "its not secure, your password may be vulnerable and stolen. you wanna take that risk?"
right?
oh wait! there is no such option?!

sadly conversation goes on ex route again. "which is more secure?".
its not about only the security! Im not happy some1 to make choices for my name and push them! for me thats a type of slavery!
I dont understand how ppl can give up their right to choose!

Depends on the security of your e-mail account.

Well, besides outright phishing, the only vector of "acquiring" login to warframe is email, so it's kinda pointless.

Until two-factor authentication they only had to get my e-mail address and my Warframe password. After that they have to get my e-mail address, Warframe password, the password for my e-mail address and steal my phone, because I have two-factor authentication on my e-mail address as well.

I presume the password to your e-mail address is also different from all the rest of your passwords and you type it in each time as well?

Man, Warframe login is broken on so many levels.
First, it's ridiculous. Until I've learned yesterday of Duviri and reinstalled, I've not seen this 'relog every time' page in nearly a decade. Right, I've come to play a bit of an action game, I'm thrilled to type in some text.
Next, games I usually play use a Steam ticket to verify my ID and account. Someone has to hijack my Steam account to log in in my stead. AND IT has all the necessary measures to minimize that chance, including 2-factor auth, my phone number and such.
And, like it was mentioned above, this does nothing to make my account safer -- on the contrary, if server login database is stolen, it's far easier (i.e. possible) to brute force non-24 letter non-randomized password. It's just 'remember the password, type it in and press the button to start'. This was a questionable practice in 2013, but I accepted it then. In 2023 it looks like what it is -- a ridiculous relic from the bygone era.
Why did you necro a 3 year old post lol
