Are the Tenno also humans?
Comming back to Warframe after a long time I saw the Corpus were just humans. That surpised me alot, because when I played Warframe the first time their faces were never revealed and so I thought they would be a robotic alien species. And now I wonder if the Tenno are just an other human faction, too or if they are really aliens.

Yes, humans corrupted by the Void. You might want to take a look at the lore page if you're interested in it.

i believe the current running lore, to my knowledge, is that there are 2 kinds of tenno. The original tenno, and us. The original were humans infected by the tennocite virus? from the dark sector game. We in this game are energy beings that inhabit suits based on the original tenno.

I do not believe the Tenno we play are energy beings.
Considering that the Tenno can be kept in biostasis, require life support, can bleed, breathe, die, and that various NPCs, such as General Sargas Ruk and Lech Kril, refer to the Warframes themselves as suits, it is well established that Warframes are suits of armor, and that they contain living, organic Tenno.

If you're reffering to Captain Vor saying that Tenno are the energy that power the Warframe I believe he was reffering to their command and mastery of void energy.

While I do not believe there has been a definative word from DE as to what the tenno are, the lore so far refers to us as flesh and blood humans mutated by void exposure and then put in suits grown from individuals exposed to the technocyte virus and then further modified by the Orokin. Excalibur being the first successful Tenno Warframe made for this purpose.

During the Arid Fear event Vor even references that we are flesh and blood inside the suits and wonders why Alad V seems to think that the suits are the tenno themselves considering the Corpus faction's own background with links to the Orokin.

I believe the entire energy being theory started with Vor's line in the Vor's Prize Quest where he references us as the energy that the suits focus, to paraphase. I believe this line to be metaphor as many of the Grineer seem quite fond of very symbolic speech. In the same mission Vor also mentions that his scientists pulled tenno out of the suits and the Warframes themselves wouldn't work right without a living tenno inside.

.. maybe the flesh inside the suit is grown as part of the suit construction? Kind of don't think it will fit the lore if the tenno have spirits of their own.
Drago 2015 年 1 月 9 日 上午 10:10
The flesh inside the suit is us, the Tenno; while the suits themselves have a background stemming from research with the technocyte virus - the same things that cause the infested. The prototype suits were essentially infested tissue grown from infested individuals. In Rhino Prime's flavor text the researchers responsible for testing the infested individuals find that the Prototype suits were still somewhat aware in an animalistic way and one infested individual (the basis for the Rhino Suit) rampaged through the facility killing everything in its path until it followed the scientists to a room that contained Void exposed human mutations. Being near the children calmed the infested individual.

Hayden doesn't get infected from the void in Dark Sector. Hayden Tenno being cast into Excalibur, being made the first Tenno with a functioning warframe is more of an Easter Egg then a continuation.
In Vor's Prize Vor also mentions that the Ascaris is almost attached to the Tenno's spine, which further reinforces that they are flesh and blood.

the original tenno where humans experimented on by the orkin who where all killed off by the warframes when they commited genocide, cast into the void with the virus in them fused forever with it. the warframe is there armor to help boost there powers that was given to them from the void and virus and maybe even surpress the virus itself maybe.

orokin made the virus and made the warframe by infecting the people and casting them into the void. the stalker is the last remaining member of the orokin supporters that remembers the atrocities committed by the warframes and all warframes has amnesia.

According to the Second Dream quest, Tenno have looks of humans, but note that they do not go inside their Warframes, instead they sit in the Transference (Or whatever it's called, it's like a soul link) and control their frames from there.

Raiden from Metal Gear Solid 4 has a cyborg body, only his brain and half of his head is real flesh and blood. Everything below him is artificially made.

Just because something bleed, doesn't mean it 'flesh and blood'.

PS. MoAs are also capable of bleeding, as well as Ospreys. Hyenas, and lots of Corpus robotics.

Did anyone actually look at what I said? (The above), just wondering.

I did. While I believe the majority of the discussion was before the Second Dream; you are quite right. The Second Dream does say outright that the Warframes are more Surrogates or Avatars than suit. I will be the first to admit that I thought the warframes were suits - power suits of sorts - but instead the Warframes are infested creatures created to not have a will of their own that we then use Void Transference to control as if the warframes were our own bodies. The warframes bleed because they are techno-organic tissues and metals even though according to Alad V, the infested blood tissues inside don't have the normal organs and such - giving rise to Alad V being sure we have no eyes. Vor and Lt Kril have always hinted we had flesh and blood inside the warframes but while I am sure Vor knew more about our nature, Lt Kril probably was also going by just destroying the outer layers of the warframe and revealing the infested mass inside. Either way, I liked the direction taken for the Second Dream and hope we get more quests like it.
