No such thing called opportunity. You receive standing while wearing the sigil. Standing is what you use to redeem syndicate rewards. A percent increment gives you more per mission. Say, instead of getting 100, you get 105.

If you actually read the sigils, they say how much extra % they give you, maximum being 15%. However there are a few that are purely cosmetic, like the christmas ones.

Urist I meant what you're giving them away for AFTER you have the mods you want. Like in my case I only wanted one mod out of the entire set in my chosen Syndicate :P

Of course it won't be. But if you want those mods without having to fork over platinum then the easiest way is to get them through the reward. You can sell mods for platinum. Or you can trade them for mods from other syndicates you want.

Thinking a sigil is all that's worth it is quite stupid.

Some sigils are purely decorative, such as the Christmas event sigils.
