Prime vs Standard? Difference?
Ok may sound like a noob question but I am new to the game (more or less) and I still do not know the difference between Prime vs Standard warframe/weapons. I know Primes start off with an extra polarized slot and they have cool cosmetic look but whats the difference stat wise between the standard version and the primed version of a frame/weapon? Also is it worth it to aim for a prime version if avaible or stick with the standard and forma it?

The prime version will always have better stats than the regular one (obviously it's different for each weapon). You also can potato and forma it without worrying about a new and better version of that same weapon being released.

So I suggest spending the potato and formas on the primed version and use the regular one just to see if you like how it feels. If the weapon has no prime version and you liked it, then definitely add a potato.
The stat differences are usually just to one or two, not an across-the-board increase. Rhino Prime, for instance, was the first to have a stat bonus and that was just to sprint speed (1.0 compared to normal Rhino's 0.9).

Volt Prime probably has the highest change from his base version - it has an extra 85 armour (100 armour total) and an extra 100 energy (so it starts with an energy pool of 200 and it goes up to 300 at rank 30).

The differences are usually listed on the Warframe wiki's page for the Prime version down in the Notes section.
Interesting this is some good information thanks!
