It's like if I, after playing Civilization for like 100 hours went to the forums of, for example, Team Fortress 2 and said "Oh, and where are the era aspects? Why can't I build my own cities and train legions of snipers in those? I don't want to adapt to a game or learn it - the game should do it for me!"
If anything, this game is closer to Planetside 2 then you average Blades of Bloody Blades and Souls Online (Blades edition). You get 4 unqiue abilities for all frames. As you progress and mod your characters - your abilities change drastically. Instead of firewalls you will be sending poison clouds, swirling demon hordes at your enemies or just boulders. It's all in the modding.
Stop being over defensive about your game.
Warframe might not be for you. You might like Titan Quest if you want skill trees to play with.
Where is it labled an MMORPG? Go look at the store page. F2P, Action, Co-op, 3rd person shooter.
I just checked, it's not labeled as MMO. It's labeled (by players, not Valve mind that) as Massively Multiplayer game. Not persistant Online. Those are, while similar sounding, are different things. TF2 is Massively Multiplayer game. Battlefield is. CoD (to a certain degree). None of them are MMO's though.
Another Edit: I just noticed that Warframe also labeled as FPS on Steam store page by some prankster, while it has zero FPS elements in it. Speaking of blindly believeing labels.
As you level up, you get more mod capacity for that Warframe/weapon.
With more mod capacity, you can add more mods.
There's your levelling choices, have fun.
I wasn't faulting you for what warframe is categorized, I was faulting you for thinking Guild Wars 1 isn't a MMO. While the parties were smallish, you could still see hundreds or even thousands of players, back when it was popular. Also I never said Warframe is a MMO nor Did I say it was a RPG either, so get your facts straight.
No need to get your knickers in a wad for being wrong and having it pointed out. Again, GW1 is not an MMO. Note the lack of a persistant world when every area outside hubs are instanced. Just. Like. Warframe. And you JUST admited warframe is not an MMO. Get your facts straight before you come back.
