Dragon Nikana vs Dakra Prime + Dex Dakra
With the release of the anniversery weapons and the previous rivalry betweeen the Dakra Prime and the Dragon Nikana I want to see the opinions between these three now.

Would you perfer one Dakra over the other and would you compare the Dex Dakra to the Dragon Nikana?

Giving reasons for and why would be appreciated.

For me, in terms of pure damage it's probably Dakra Prime>D. Nikana=> Dex Dakra.
If we're talking about what is more subjectively enjoyable to use then Dex Dakra>Dakra P.>D. Nikana.
If we're going a bit in depths
D. Nikana. Just don't like Nikana. It's sluggish, it doesn't shine in terms of damage, it's not a good status weapon, crit build is not viable. Looks good though. Especially with new PBR rendering.

Dex Dakra. It looks fantastic and it utilizes one of my all time favourite stances for dual swordes (Tiger, of course). It's damage is pretty decent, but not incredibly high, crit is just enough to feed Berserker, but not enough for an actual crit build. It's also purple. I love purple. A bit slow, can be countered with Berserker. Great status weapon.

Dakra Prime. With Swirling Derwish it's a very powerful weapon. Status is meh, but it can hit like a truck if you unsheath it first.

I know how to mod Nikana and I have it maxed. I oneshotted many enemies, including Stalker, with it. Still, it doesn't have the highest damage out of three, it's attacks are sluggish (for me) and I don't enjoy wielding it. I just don't like it. But it doesn't mean it's a bad weapon.

Eh your Opinion but i say DN is actually good in the 'normal range as in non-prime' in Prime range i'd say Darka Prime for the WIn!!!!!!!!!!

No, I think he's right. If you don't use the d. nikana as a primary on a critical+channeling build, and without a stance you're very comfortable with, it's not a very good weapon. As an off-hand weapon, without added range, or speed, things like that (that will destroy your maximized damage build), you have several other better alternatives.

So, it depends on the way you play and mod. :)

None of the above.

Primed Reach with Galatine. Tempo Royale.

Galatine is out of question. OP didn't ask about it.

I use melee mainly for coptering, so Dex Dakra is out of the question for me. I also only quick melee, which means I'll never be able to take advantage of Crimson Dervish; so I'm left with Dragon Nikana.

Dragon Nikana is not a very good copter weapon at all. In fact, it's copter slows you down when you perform it. Maybe you could consider getting Dual Zoren or Tipedo for it?

Edit: I was proven wrong. My data was outdated.

Truth be told, you can copter fairly well with D Nikana, plus its high damage and quick melee makes it a very good "all around" weapon. Honestly I never had any slow down when trying to copter with the D Nikana, I wouldn't take it only for coptering though.

So, apparently it's coptering speed was a bit buffed, so there's truth in your words (very pompous way to say "Hey, apparently I was wrong and you are right"). However, I still decided to run few field tests.
A Dragon Nikana without any mods.
1. Coptering on a flat surface, with jump - ~22-23 meters.
2. Coptering without jump - ~13-15 meters.
3. Airdash - ~20-22 meters.
B. Dakra Prime. Unmodded.
1. Coptering without the jump - ~20-22 meters
2. Coptering without the jump - ~18 meters
3. Airdash - ~20-22 meters
C. Now let's say, Tipedo. I know, it's not really fair to compare it to Nikana, but I'm doing it anyway.
1. Coptering with jump - ~25-27 meters.
2. Coptering without jump - ~14-17 meters.
3. Airdash - ~35-38 meters.

So yeah. Nikana is not THAT atrocious as I thought. Information has been updated, you are correct, but... it's not that good either. It's mediocre, not good, but not bad, just big, fat OK. But I swear, before that buff (that I apparently missed) it would literally slow you down if you try to use coptering, because of sluggish animation.
Edit: I suck at editing.

IF your in a clan get a weapon called 'Tonbo''. Mod it perfectly and it is good.

Tonbo is not exactly what OP is asking about. Besides, Tonbo currently is one of the slowest polearms in the game, if I'm not mistaken.

i dont think the answer is that complicated...
in terms of stats...each melee weapon shines in it own way...depending on the situation/stances/mods/and which warframe uses it(cuz each wf interacts better or worst with a certaint wep)...
I use dakra prime for infested because of the crimson devilish aoe combos its pretty damm efficient...and the dex dakra against the greneer alongside with valkyr's attack speed(fast combos, quick dashes=insta win)....
i dont own or used a nikata or dragon nikata but from what i see it looks like a traditional duelist weapon...and the status aint much of a difference...
in the end....the player choses the blade which suits him most....
