Hey, don't judge. That's rude.

doesn't it say "he" anywhere in his description in the game market?
If not maybe Limbo is actually female and her outfit was based off of the burlesque getups of yesteryear, they had flowey coat tails and top-hats too... though limbo may look a little strange in fishnet stockings and a garterbelt.

My friend and I prefer to see the Warframes as just ninja robots with guns... that kills stuff. Call me boring but remove the gender from the frames and nothing will be affected.

Some enjoy playing as the gender they are, some enjoy playing the opposite. If you look at it this way you would understand. Because personally i would find the game boring if they did not have any ''gender' or visuals that show the player just that. I find none of the male warframe even close to being ''ok'' in my book, but many of the female ones i have favourites. The design choices between male and female are very interesting imo.
Male frames are normally more bulky, muscular, special stances which show off their personality quite well. While female frames have that interesting design of being feminine in look, but looking past that you have got a mysterious personality. The stances they have i enjoy highly more then male ones.
But when it comes to personal taste i have always enjoyed playing as a female far more, mainly because i have spent countless of hours in other games looking at the backside of a male. A ugly male at that, while here i can look at a very nicely designed female and my pimp cosmetics.

I have always enjoyed playing as a female, and that is not because i'm a pervert, it's because i enjoy designs, movements, stances and overall female body.

Plenty of things will be affected... the lore for one.
Also it'd totally ruin fanart like this:

Exert from Excalibur's codex entry:
The Sentients had won. They had turned our weapons, our technology, against us. The more advanced we became, the greater our losses. The war was over unless we found a new way. In our desperation we turned to the Void. The blinding night, the hellspace where our science and reason failed.

We took the twisted few that had returned from that place. We built a frame around them, a conduit of their affliction. Gave them the weapons of the old ways. Gun and blade. A new warrior, a new code was born. These rejects, these Tenno, became our saviors. Warrior-Gods cast in steel and fury striking our enemies in a way they could never comprehend. Excalibur was the first.

Apparently there are... 'things'... in there, it simply doesn't state what they are, or if they have a gender to begin with, perhaps the frames are designed to the liking of their creators rather than to fit the shape of that which inhabits it... in which case maybe... just maybe... Embers designer had been looking at too many playboy magazines prior to building the frame:

Still waiting for the first "being in Limbo" jokes here. Guys, I'm sorely disappointed.

But yeah, Limbo female: no. Limbo's design from what I can perceive ("top-hat", swallow-tail "coat", wide "sleeves") is based on the archetypical appearance of magicians in the 19th and 20th century. Those were (to my knowledge) never female. Women who dabbled in that field of ahem... expertise... mostly were fortune tellers and media. There might be exceptions, but if they were few and far between.
