It's a game and getting all worked up over virtual breathable air is silliness. The only times I've had problems with oxygen, it was mostly because everyone spread out instead of staying nearby. That's my major gripe with Survival missions and everyone is always going on about the damn oxygen.

The point isnt the reward, bc if there was 4 friends and wanted to stay more time, they could stay 20m, 30m or what ever, just bc most players in alerts are waiting for the countdown to reach 0, doesnt mean all act like that, so there wasnt nothing wrong with his question.
Stop changing a SPECIFIC case, where a guy on a mission with a timer ignores the existence of a timer that's right there on screen and asks for the time, with a generic "maybe he was playing differently", your first reply nor this one apply at all to what my first comment said, just stop.
Then go solo ... when there is a "team", it isn't about just you anymore. Shall you want the mission to be played "your way" - go solo ... and since you already stated you can solo, then go solo. ... simple.
I just get weary of the following scenario:
Player 1 (veteran)
Player 2 (veteran)
Player 3 (newbie)
Player 4 (genius)
Player 4:
Hey guys, do not use the oxygen until it reaches 30%.
You guys understand right? Do not use the oxygen or it will be wasted.
Answer back that you understand, I do not want to be a part of another looser group who fail at using the oxygen.
....
....
....
Lotus:
Your oxygen has been replenished, that should keep you going for a while.
Player 4:
WHAT THE F---!!!!
I SAID NOT TO USE IT TILL 30%!
Lotus:

(Insert random stream of internet rage, cursing, and sometimes even microphone abuse here)

I think all he did was stand there spamming messages about the oxygen....

THIS is the EXACT EVENT of those so-called "pro" [or "genius" as you termed] during such missions ... Every Time.
Maybe is they designed the interface so that (even if the chat was minimised) something drew there attention to the fact there was chat to read,
But also I think its important to keep persoective and dont go off on one like some 12 year old with tourettes.
I've run into a few of those myself. I generally just ignore those types of "genius/elitist players"
I just play the game. If they don't like other players play-styles, leave and get replaced by someone who isn't such a try-hard and is taking the game super-seriously. It's even funnier when they freak out at the O2 use in the survival alerts.
I'm just glad I have mics auto-muted. The last thing I need to hear when I'm trying to relax after a long day is someone screaming in my ear about oxygen, or anything else for that matter in-games.
Oh, I do NOT ignore these "delusional genius self-proclaimed elitist pro" ... as soon as I see those type of message [or hear them in the voice chat] ... I will respond "OK" and, activate the "pods" as soon as they became ready-for-use ...
... oh, the event after will be so funny and predictable.
