In terms of survivability, they're a slightly health-leaning hybrid between shield and health that has a full heal and overshield max button in their 3, complete with about 3 seconds of invulnerability if you activate the ability on the backbeat, it also comes with a very potent damage buff that can top off at 750% extra heat damage to the entire party with some use of their 1 on the backbeat to refill the duration and increase the damage.
Meanwhile their 2 is basically a button to make enemies significantly more vulnerable to crits, while their 4 is his flamethrower exalted weapon with elemental waves of viral, magnetic, cold and corrosive, a very powerful flamethrower at that which can easily be kept up by just activating abilities on the backbeat to refill the meter.
For the exalted guitar flamethrower I'd recommend you avoid any 60/60 mods, maybe use the 1999 magnetic and radiation damage mods instead so you don't mess up the elements on the 1 or the cold wave.
The guitar launches elemental waves while aiming, essentially a second minor ability set that uses the guitar's fuel as energy, haven't used them quite enough to get a perfect feel for it yet but seems like a pretty potent way to build statuses on meaty targets at least.
Overall, they're a VERY competent frame, not tippy-top tier in terms of killing potential, little can compare to giants like Kullervo's absurd melee damage, but they can easily hold their own, be it in a group or solo on Steel Path with relatively minor, if any, forma-usage required to get to that stage.
Plus, they're an excellent pick for weapon-restriction missions or conditions, like archimedeas, as he brings along an exalted primary weapon that can very much hold its own in a fight and is incredibly easy to upkeep.
My only complaint would be that the effects of using their 1 at close range without screen shake are a bit intense atm, probably turn off screenshake or hope for a tweak to that soon.
Yes, they can even take out acolytes in steel path 1999 with relative ease, just remember to use the 3 on backbeat for the invulnerability so you can just keep melting them down.
You have to align the meter when you use your abilities for maximum effect, easy but it gets annoying to keep track of it while you're aiming at enemies
They don't seem to have much survivability outside of a 3 that makes them invincible while casting it and heals them
Guitar flamethrower isn't much more fun or unique than the flamethrower weapons already in the game, also requires using ability keys to use it's alt fire which is uncomfortable for my fingers and messes with movement unless you have your abilities bound to mouse buttons
The 2 is completely useless outside of high level missions
Range doesn't effect the actual radius of their 1
I won't be playing this one for long
