You haven't played before 1999 neither it seems

We are in a cross platform enviroment and the downside of it stated many years ago is that updates need to get a certification from the console companies in order to get the same content delivered across all platforms, including PC.

You no longer get patch after patch on PC as you used to because your game needs to be inline with the rest, you update at the same pace as the consoles, aka slowly.

It has been like this for quite a few years now.

you didnt search very hard considering there's an update tomorrow. There's also dev streams every 3-4 weeks. They are constantly updating the community about upcoming stuff... so idk what you are talking about.
