Is there a confirmed release date for 1999?

DE said December, I was kinda hoping they'd give a more specific date now that it's December.

If DE Rebecca and the gang don't mention it in the next livestream, then check the official site or wait for an official notification via Steam store page/Microsoft/Sony/all-the-platforms.

Some game studios do not use their players to tell other players when a release is due, because of the "telephone game" that always happens with unofficial channels (Steam forums, Reddit, Twitter, fan YouTubers, and so on).

They said they were announcing it at the game awards on Dec 12th. Considering they've done this a couple times and the answer has been "The update is launching tonight!" and that they said they wanted to have ~2 weeks before the holidays for a smooth launch, I'm assuming they'll be launching it on the night of the game awards again.

Dec 31 is still December but i'd hazard that they'd release it sometime in the next two weeks to allow for rollout and hotfixes before end of year breaks start

It's coming next week because they need at least one extra week to patch any major issues before their christmas vacations start.

Part of the 1999 setting is it takes place around new years, so I imagine they wanted to time the update release around this upcoming new year

I was thinking it'd be funny if they released it on the 31st, to at least keep to the theme of 1999. My first guess would have been maybe a week or two before Christmas, but I wanted to see if there was an official release date, but thanks for answering!

If this is true then that'd be pretty neat, 12th is my Birthday, getting a major update would be dope.

They said there will be a major announcement during the game awards on the 12th. Likely a release date. With any luck it will be an "OUT NOW" type of announcement, but i somewhat doubt that will be it.

After they set the timeline of the events to December 31st 1999, I am now convinced they are gonna release it on the 31st :/

They did post some PSAs on the Warframe forums regarding spoilers and estimated build sizes for 1999 a couple hours ago today so we might be getting the update either this week or next week hopefully?

I still feel 12/12 is a great posability. Would not be the first time DE has gone to a game show to show off an expansion and at the end say "oh, btw its out!"
