Yeah, good luck with that. DE devs don't even look at the Steam forums, and they have't been able to fix the Hosting system since they (allegedly) fired the guy that coded it years ago. Finding a way to code the game to work with the Apple OS, after Apple deliberately ♥♥♥♥♥♥ their OS's ability to play most games, is beyond a tall.
isnt that Warframe can be played on recent Apple phone also mac mini that with M2 - M3 chips ?
until apple stops making everything stupid. no game devs will even touch the macos platform.
You simply dont play on mac :D

Plus MOST Apple computers dont have alot of performance power for rendering outside of video editing. Im not even sure if common codecs like dx12 or vulkan are even natively compatible on Apple

Apple's M1 - M4 chip can run RE7 , there is few vids showing people play warframe with Mac mini.

Oh, interesting. I expected the problem mostly to be with the graphics codec's. Guess thats resolved. Cool for the mac folk out there.

Yeah, game developers aren't exactly happy to chase after a platform that intentionally makes itself hard to write software for just so they can get an extra 0.01% more players. Stuff like OpenGL and Vulkan and WebGPU intends to make software able to run well in more places with fewer changes. Metal is the opposite of that.

You can't play on Mac because the devs haven't developed a MacOS version. You want that - offer them a million dollars to develop it for you.
In a nutshell it takes effort to make a version compatible with the Mac OS, and since it takes effort it takes money.
Will they make more money from players if they support Mac than they'll have to spend on it? Than the money they'd make simply developing something else?

The answer for this, and most games, is a resounding 'no'. Mac versions typically only get made for games which would easily support it, or for true projects of love.

So, that's why there's no Mac support for Warframe, and usually no mac support for other games.

You tend to find Mac support in games that either don't have an engine developed in-house (so it's someone else's problem to get it working) or games where most of the complexity is not the graphics engine (so they don't have to write essentially a separate game just for Mac users).

Warframe is neither of those. The engine is developed in-house and the game has a lot of very complicated graphics code.

Plus the complexity of Warframe's code is immense. True spaghetti code in many parts. Thats one of the many reasons why some legacy bugs remain. Attempts to fix them just cause more of a mess. Same problem exists for other long standing franchises like EVE Online or WoW.

In EVE, few years back they wanted to remove a set of structures because they became redundant. But the code was soo intertwined, to do so was beyond costly. I expect DE faces the same challenges at times.
