Good warframe but it's not S tier in my book like many people think she is.
She's great in ESO, and maybe Defense/Survival, that's about it. Most enemies die too fast to get use out of her spores.
Great AoE DPS, durability and setting up the enemies for map-clearing ult is exceptionally amusing. Great for focus farming in Sancutry Onslaughts.

But requires too much work for my taste. Keeping the eye on the spore spread, trying your best to not let it go down... Can't be bothered.
good for nuking I guess but just use equinox
Like it for the gun buffing abilities, it's AoE is boring, tbh.

Miss the days when it's 1 did viral and you could use its molt to set up a death field.

As for the nerfing of it, will be like with Ember: "Ree it trivializes low level content, waaah!"
Same time, "How can I cheese this?"

overrated.
yeah, spores are nice and have scaling damage, but they take too long to scale up, and you'll lose the damage over time when compared to equinox or xaku
2 is just better decoy unless you run it's augment, then it's basically a get out free card
3, honestly never saw the point. extra toxin damage? yay, let me know when it's viral or corrosive.
4. basic aoe damage tool, only useful if you have spores up
can she do numbers? yes
is she the "queen" of dps? nope. mesa has better single target obliteration power, and equinox has better scaling for her wide area nuke.
and honestly, xaku crushes all 3 of them in all catagories
she caughes and everything dies
Makes spit sounds when casting, so that's nice
But yeah, unless u put venom dose, ~300% str and roar on her, shes kinda mid without it

1. spores are godly and they only get better the higher level the enemies
2. molt even without the augment removes any negative statuses, speeds you up, and is just generally a good ability for shield gating in SP
3. toxic lash lets you spread her spores just by shooting or smacking an infected enemy (ordinarily the spore would have to kill the enemy on it's own OR you have to shoot the spore itself to get it to spread), also it adds toxin to your weapons, meaning you don't have to mod them for viral, just cold, and then use her 3 and boom all your attacks are now viral.
4. miasma is meh, it's a good nuke in low end content but i replaced it with mesa's shooting gallery for cc in SP

Saryn isn't a boss killer frame, she's a "kill everything in a country mile" type frame, and she's miles easier to get than Equinox, Xaku or Mesa.

Edit: her 3 (toxic lash) actually doesn't combine with other elements on your weapons, i was just using a gun that has innate toxin apparenlty. But still, toxic lash is literally the ability that makes Saryn work so well

Generally good points, however, for clarity Saryn's 3, Toxic Lash, operates somewhat differently than stated.

It won't actually combine with weapon elements, so if you still want your weapon hits to do Viral you'll have to have both Toxin and Cold elemental mods in there for that to happen; while this sounds bad on the face of it, the way it DOES work winds up being even BETTER, basically being a bonus damage instance tacked on near the end of the damage calculation, allowing you to "double-dip" with Faction Damage mods - which will also boost the Toxin Proc damage ticks yet again, so you wind up TRIPLE-dipping (which provides pretty strong incentive to start using those if one isn't already). Xaku's first ability, Xata's Whisper, also works this way (while also using a damage type that basically nothing is resistant to as far as I know, so that's a bonus point in its favor I guess).

To quote the Warframe Wiki[warframe.fandom.com]:
Messaggio originale di WarframeWiki:
Toxic Lash adds an extra Toxin attack that scales with weapon damage on hit, before health and armor resistances. This extra hit has a guaranteed chance to proc Toxin.

For example, an unmodded weapon that hits for 200 damage with a Rank 3 Toxic Lash and a Rank 5 Mod Intensify, Toxic Lash will deal: 200 × 0.3 × 1.3 = 78 Toxin damage which ticks for 78 × 0.5 = 39 Toxin damage per second.
Toxin mods on your weapon will apply their toxin mod multiplier to Toxic Lash's Toxin ticks, regardless if they are combined into other elements.
Extra Toxin damage does not combine with weapon elements.
Faction Damage Mods, after first applying to your weapon, will multiply Toxic Lash's hit a second time, and multiply its Toxin ticks a third time, effectively triple-dipping.
Status Duration Mods and Saryn's own passive affect the duration of the Toxin proc.
Most weapon hits will trigger a Toxic Lash attack, including Mod Acid Shells and Mod Concealed Explosives, but not Mod Bursting Mass or Pathocyst's maggots.
Damage is affected by Ancient Disruptor auras and other enemies that reduce ability damage, unlike other weapon buffing skills.

It may be worth noting that Grendel's Nourish ability DID used to work as described by the quoted post, adding Toxin damage to a weapon in such a way that you could just use a Cold mod to get Viral damage (or just have more Viral damage if you already modded for it); post Grendel-rework I'm not 100% sure how Nourish works off the top of my head - I guess it straight up adds Viral damage, +Energy Gain, and damage reflection? I don't know where the Viral damage gets added during the calculation.

...Anyway, the bottom line is that Toxic Lash is actually a strong damage-buffing ability in and of itself, made pretty bonkers by using Faction Damage mods on your weapons, while also synergizing well with Spores. I definitely agree with the quoted poster that Miasma is kinda meh; if you're at the stage of the game where you can start freely taking advantage of Helminth, that's probably the ability I'd swap out, since Saryn's 1 scales so well, 2 has great utility and lifesaving potential, and 3 is a strong buff that makes Saryn's 1 much easier to keep up - whereas her 4 falls off pretty dramatically on higher-level, beefier enemies (like Railjack or Steel Path), even with the boost it gets to Spore'd enemies.

Saryn's pretty good, basically. Not my favourite 'Frame admittedly, but not the most busted, not the weakest, not the easiest to use, not the most upkeep-intensive; just all-around solid and fairly engaging to play, while also scaling pretty well with higher-level enemies and areas - all while being pretty readily available fairly early on.
Just don't play her in Radiation Sorties unless you like the idea of your allies hunting down the biggest threat in the room.

The biggest threat in that particular case being you, in case it wasn't clear.

i couldve sworn it was making my cold modded sporelacer kitgun into viral with toxic lash active.

Edit: Nevermind, it was because part of sporelacers shots already have toxin built in, so adding a cold mod made it viral. my mistake, still a good ability though
Ultima modifica da ElmMi'kmaq; 16 gen 2023, ore 2:59
I use her with self buffs only most of the time. No spore spreading (can't be bothered), 4th ability replaced with Roar. Use 1st, 3rd + Roar on self = insane damage weapon rivalling Mirage, but tanky.

Heh, the only reason I even knew that tidbit was because I was in the same situation and was really confused when I transitioned to another weapon with just Cold on it and was seeing individual Cold and Toxin procs. Several minutes of poking around on the Warframe Wiki later and here we are. I don't know WHY Toxic Lash and Xata's Whisper work the way they do, but they do, so now I'm more cognizant of Faction Damage mods as a result (when I should have already been using them before, I guess - they're deceptively strong).
