cephalon simaris standing
Got back into Warframe after, I dunno, 5 years? So, basically I have to relearn everything.
What I'm currently trying to figure out is how farming standing with Cephalon Simaris works.
Several questions about that:

1) I can accept a hunt, which I'm supposed to trap with a Kinetic Cyphon Trap and then scan with a Synthesis scanner. So much is clear (I think), but where can I find the prey which I'm hunting?

2) I can also "attempt sanctuary onslaught". But I can't figure out what that's supposed to be and what the goal is at all. Also what is efficency and what are those efficiency boosters for? Do I even gain standing for doing this. If so, how?

3) Where can I find "Medallions" to trade in for standing?
4) What is a similacrum? What is a similacrum access key and where can I find it?

1) If I remember, when selecting the Hunt in the orbiter will show you the general location where the Prey could spawn in. If it did spawn, Cephalon Simaris will say some specific line about it at the start of the mission. 2) Sanctuary onslaught is similar to Extermination gamemode, but with waves. It gives both relics and Khora blueprints. Efficiency is how fast the portal to another location opens, if it reaches 0 you fail. 3) As for the Universal Medallions, they drop from Disruption gamemode on rotation C, they're unique because you can give them to any faction and gain standing from them. 4) Simulacrum is just like sandox, where you could test various stuff, mods, weapons, and how they affect enemies that you've already unlocked. You could disable enemy AI etc. But in to actually "summon" enemies you need to have them unlocked in the Codex.

The easiest way to get Simaris standing that I have found is to scan anything & everything with the synthesis scanner. It is slower than the dedicated hunts etc. but literally any creature, object, or person will work, so potential targets are everywhere. This gets easier once you have the add-on for the scanner that gives it unlimited charges, so that should probably be your first purchase. Objects give 10 standing, while creatures & people give 50 - 100, doubled for a stealth scan.

If you have an Archwing, the Archwing Launcher, and access to any of the open world areas (Plains of Eidolon, Orb Vallis, Cambion Drift), you can go into the open area, launch your archwing, and start scanning enemies on the ground from high up. Most enemies can't see you from further than 80m or so, and rarely look up, so flying about 100m up will get you stealth scans on everything. Conservation animals are also valid scan targets, and if you tranq them from far away, they will still count as a stealth scan even when you go right up to them to turn them in; the tranq rifle will track & highlight them for you further away than most people have enemy radar. I normally use Orb Vallis for this, since the other two landscapes will spawn flying enemies you will need to deal with if you are in your archwing.

I can't answer your other questions, but for 3, the only medallions Simaris will accept are the Universal ones, which I have only seen as drops from special events (twich devstream, gift of the lotus aniversary alert, and so on). Medallions specific to the main six syndicates can be found in their respective missions (so you can find up to 8 Steel Meridian medallions in a steel meridian exterminate mission, for example).
Best way to get Simaris standing is to do a steel path sabotage mission on earth and scan every enemy with a synthesis scanner while undetected, it's best to do this with a warframe that can stay invisible a long time like Loki.
If you get a good run you can max your daily standing limit in a single go.

Sanctuary Onslaught, or Elite version of it is where i usually go when i need to forma my gear that can't be levelled up on Earth via stealth eximus kills, like hitscan weapons, secondary weapons, melee weapons. With affinity booster, which can drop either from a Sortie or from 1999 calendar it's good enough, usually takes 3-4 waves depending on your teammates. If your teammates don't care then they run away far enough so the shared affinity bonus doesn't apply, and that slows down the levelling. So Ik there are faster ways to do it but i think the better one requires playing Railjack and getting a crew so you could summon them, which i don't want to do, not a fan of Railjack.

What kind of pisses me off is that at some point during my early years of playing WarFrame (WF) my Helios' Sentinel automatic scans stopped counting towards the Cephalon Simaris[warframe.fandom.com] "Syndicate" standing. And being that the only place that I know that trades "Syndicate"'s standing for an Exilus WF Adapter[warframe.fandom.com] blueprints (BP's) it becomes annoying to have to scan everything for such little return value, even if you perform stealth scans (i.e., the foe not being aware of your scanning them).

And thanks for all those goods tips regarding stealth scanning, because I've forgot about the ArchWing trick one.
It also kind of restores the sharing knowledge in good faith that this community seemed to had somewhat lost sometime during these last years or so.

And also replying to the OP, that Simulacrum Key[warframe.fandom.com] that you'll obtain from C. Simaris is also for its arena area that I've just linked above it as well.
And despite Khora[warframe.fandom.com]'s farm is one of the worst grinds that I've done upon WF it was worth it due to her general usefulness (before her Prime version appeared too, ofc).

Alright! Thanks everyone for the advice!

To get back into Warframe and understand what's going on I revived an old goal that fits farming cephalon simaris standing and that is to farm out Ivara.
Which I just finished doing together with Paris Prime cause it looks like a good fit.

And with that I will do some cephalon simaris farming later.

You're remebering it right.
You're referring to the somewhat unpredictable Simulor[warframe.fandom.com] Rifle (due to limited range) and having to choose previously shot floating Orbs to then shot again through those to have amplified damage.
And also the decent damage Heliocor[warframe.fandom.com] Hammer, even if albeit amongst the slowest attack moving ones that I recall of (ir memory serves me right too, ofc). :baa:

Best way I do it is with Ivara, pick a steel path mission with grineer, scan every enemy while invis for max rep then finish the mission. Can get 30k rep or so in 1-2 missions.

I'm so happy that you just said that - makes the Ivara blueprint grind I did all day yesterday worth it.

best Simaris farm and by far the fastest and easiest for me was going to cetus open world solo. Hang by the main gate, and use the trang rifle. And just hunt the nearest (often only) animals. Either tranq them then scan them, or scan them then kill them.

Best results are the vultures, they yield upto 1500 standing per scan, groups of 3 (rarely less)
Second best is night time, the night cats. they yield 500 each, groups of 4 (rarely less)

1) If you got for the simarus hunt quest. It's spawn is relative to what it is; infested? go do infested missions, grineer? go to grineer missions, Orokin? go to void missions, etc.

2) Sanctuary Onslaught is your affinity farm mode, best described. But you do earn rewards in both modes, reg and elite.

3) The universal medallions are a rare drop, I highly do not recommend farming them just for simarus standing. they can be obtained from some reward tables as rotation C.

4) Simulacrum is your "battle simulator", there you can spawn any fully scanned enemies for testing/training/etc.
The key is sold by Simarus himself I believe
