so new to this and trying to understand it. how does the days progress in it? is it by set hours irl, stuff you do in game or what?

just by completing the mission you instantly go to the next event then is reset weekly

It's basically a set of challenges, complete them to get rewards and more challenges.

It looks like a calendar just to make it fit 1999 theme.

the calender is pretty neat in my eyes , the rewards are good (orokin catalyst/reactor blueprints , arcana , drop boosters etc.) and the look fit this version of 1999

ignore the dates and months nonsense. Treat it as a "Quest Log", do the first mission to unlock the next reward, and so on.

Every now and then you'll get a choice, you get 1 of 3 buffs. They will last until the next cycle.

Other then that, you'll get a choice to celebrate one of the Hex birthdays. Skipping them has no consequences

the "quests" are weekly. Finish them or not, you get a new set come next week. What you do miss out on are the rewards and the minor buffs that last the "entire year" of the calendar. Calendar resets every 4 weeks. The buffs only apply when in the 1999 world, not outside of it.

Calendar progresses 3 months at a time, on a weekly RL timer. How you progress through that 3 month period within the week depends solely on how you complete the tasks. Once that calendar progresses through December, the whole thing resets.

This is primarily relevant to the rewards on the calendar you can earn each RL week and the buffs that you unlock throughout the 1999 calendar year.
