well if youd interact with the systems you understand thristing over npcs is the optional part, the point is story telling for the drifter. but yah there is clearly ppl who do thrist over npcs, shame them if you like its not going to change anything, marking it as a dating sim was just foolish i think.

you will learn things about the story you probably had no idea just from the drifters responses which you get to choose....

The ironic bit is that the relationship aspects happen well after you have the requirements for the faction rank ups. And once your at rank 5, you never have to touch the chat aspect again if you choose to.

I'm personally not into it, but I just regard it with indifference and proceed as normal as it is just a game and functionally no different than any other syndicate. Do stuff, number goes up, unlock new thing. Rinse and repeat.

Latching can be done negatively as well as positively, so I wonder why people who don't like it can't just ignore it.

I reached Rank 5 without doing ANY kind of romance

It's not as if Warframe would establish a profound love simulation... Apart from “I'm happy...”, “what's on your mind” and “I'm breaking up”, there's not much.

Sure at the end of the in-game year there will probably be a kissing scene, but that's about it. For WF players, this is something really exciting, something new and unprecedented.

If you've played Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Witcher or Cyberpoint - yes, you'll smile about it.

Personally, I just find the chat conversations cute and with Aoi it's pretty similar to how I chat with my sweetheart.

If you are looking for a more realistic dating game, It's not Warframe.
If you are looking for either one-night-only or long term real life relationship, there are dating apps.
