Is warframe worth returning to? And is it still worth playing long term?

My Best Advice, Get yourself Prime Nekros and Farm up your gear and Resources and Craft new Weapons and Use the Lich weapons to level your Player Rank.

You might want to reread that.

I love these threads, it's so much fun to see people who left the game 2 years ago because it was "terrible" yet haven't found anything better to do with their lives than haunt the forum section of a game they don't play anymore.
Oh yeah, and the game itself is pretty good too.

I'd say its best played with friends. I quit several hundred hours in solo, but in getting a friend in I've logged alot more time. But I also generally prefer playing with friends for any game so there's that

I just returned a few weeks ago and have been playing nonstop. Ultimately all you do is farm, to get more things to farm more. Difference now is there's tons of content to play, as in different weapons and warframes and open world maps (Which you farm standing there too while you keep farming other things). Once you realize everything still comes down to farming then it depends if you can have fun doing things while farming.

I'm almost to the point of fatigue and getting bored. Everything feels like a rush and your ability to manage your time and platinum while farming faster for what you want. Like for example I wanted to get a Smeeta Kavat why? To farm faster of course! (25% chance to get code when scanning) so it took too long as either they don't spawn, only 2 spawn or 4 rarely 6, needed to farm 50k standing with simaris to get something that made me get twice the scan, still not enough, had to get ballista prime as they create clones you can scan. You farm for things to make your farm faster, it's all a matter of time and only time. And if you haven't played in a long time you have so much to do to even get to the end game content.

Not to mention the standing farm, you gotta do it everyday. It used to be just the syndicates, now every open world has 1-2 of their own "syndicates" so it all comes down to how fast you can do your dailies (If you've played MMORPGS you'd understand) and then do whatever else you wanted.

Of course that is my point of view, it's a matter of finding fun, and I've been losing it slowly. I did have extreme fun when I found out about open worlds not caring about standing and just getting the resources to build what I wanted at the time. But sadly if you want everything you need to do everything and it's time consuming. Cause ultimately that's what warframe is, get everything and raise your mastery rank to get even more things. It's all a twisted and convoluted way to farm, having it feel like you're not farming but you are, all day, a slave to a farming game where ultimately all you want to do is use a weapon you enjoy, get a warframe you like buy cosmetics so your warframe looks good and that's pretty much it.

If you are one to ignore truth and what it boils down to then by all means have fun in Warframe.

You are not really playing, you grinding this game hard and you're trying to be efficient at it. And that's a problem, you will burn yourself out quite fast. You're literally making Warframe a chore and a job. To what end?

It all boils down to how much you're able to live with non-perfectionism. I have to chuckle at your Smeeta Kavat ordeal. Why? Because the day I found out about Smeeta Kavats, I had bred two of them randomly weeks before. I never had to worry about obtaining codes because they came naturally. And since you mentioned that they are extremely difficult to find. They literally spawn 9 out of 10 times. And the Capture mission is always busy, i'd be extremely surprised if you had to solo it all the time. More players = more cats. I have a run with 7 scans and only 1 genetic code. Than I have 3 scans where I receive 8 codes. But at most it takes 5 Capture runs to get a full set. In the meantime, you can also equip keys in order to farm out the rare mods.

I played and quit 2 years ago. If I started to worry about how much standing I could've gained in 2 years LUL

This isn't a race, it's a game. Experiment, mess around and for gods sake.. have some fun. I'm MR22 soon and I have yet hardcore grind anything. Disregard for when I farmed Equinox two years ago because that one really was a pain.

There's just so much stuff to do but it's not that you're forced to do it all at once. Whether you treat this game as a full-time job is completely up to you and if you want to max out all bounties everyday you must have a reason to do so - be my guest. But don't downtalk a good game because you're unable to enjoy it.

Everyone rushes missions, even the game lets you rush items, everything is about time, the game forces you to play that way. If you aren't time efficient in this game you will go nowhere. And it's boring, you're doing the same mission over and over, nothing changes, nothing is challenging. Playing this game is like being the progress bar in the foundry, do this thing for 20 minutes X number of times till you get the outcome you want. Every game is like this now for some reason, it all comes down to RNG and variables and have the player submerged into 1,000,000,000 possibilities trapping them into getting the few things they desire or need. Almost like a gambling addict feeling the rush that he's soon going to win big (Now that I think about it, RNG games are just gambling, but you're not gambling money you're gambling time, companies want this as at some point you will waste money on the game). As opposed to playing a game like Super Mario Bros where you beat, the only variable is your skill, you don't depend on some arbitrary number. It's how games are nowadays so they increase their lifespan, and its horrible. With events that you're forced to do because you don't want to miss out, small time frames of life wasted so you can get a shiny new cosmetic or finish your battle pass forcing yourself to play everyday so you don't feel like you've wasted your money. All for a hollow personal gain and to show your friends your hard earned pixels. This is what gaming has become.

I remember when playing video games was fun, not being worried about completing tasks or time. Sadly most multiplayer games are just like this. Maybe for a first timer this is fun, just how fishing in this game was for me as I fished for hours. But it comes to a point where it's not fun anymore. Maybe it's fun for you because you don't have the amount of time spent playing video games as me. At the end of the day, you are repeating history in another point of view that makes it seem like you're doing something else. Some games give you 4, others give you 2+2, 3+1, 1+1+1+1 but at the end of the day they're all 4. Sometimes you get something new like a 5, but you realize it's just the same as 4 with one extra step.

You might want to check your net or lower max ping for joining - players cant kick you from the group in warframe.

To the op: if you like the gameplay then yes, if you left because you didnt like it then not much has changed in that regard.
