There are a few ways to make the process less painful, like using Limbo's rift to ignore enemies, or Operator mode to ignore any dragon key penalties, but that's about it
Build for duration and efficiency. Stay invisible and bullet jump everywhere. Personally, I find capture missions the quickest.
Capture
Head to extraction
If the Vault is on the way or at extraction, sweet, If not, no biggie.
Repeat.
*Edit, this is me soloing Vaults with all 4keys. It's quick and easy.
Not entirely true, you can speed run it.
Once we did some vault runs with a squad, the 4th player left and an mr30 joined. He knew exactly where could the vault show up and he found it in 30 sec. The vaults have locations where it can show up and locations where it never appears. As his rank shows, it needs practice
Reason for this over capture e.g. is that capture always has the "exit teleporter" for the capture target, which will be "off road"- not in a direct line to the exit. But it can still hold the vault, or even a few more "off road" rooms prior and after. Which again can have the vault.
Both, the first capture and exterminate, are still quite small though - so well suited for vault runs.
True, although rank is no sign of that (and thats me, MR 30 telling so :P ).
I just taught a "med level" friend those tricks, besides he often behaves way more "veteran" than some MR30's...
But practise matters, yes. Some of these doors can actually be pretty hidden too.
For starters: take a look at all "tile connecting doors", the vault acts like its own tile. You will probably know them after a few runs, the tileset is quite old and limited. Which also already excludes certain areas due to size if you take a look at the map. Oh yes, have the map open is probably a good idea as well.
Personally i run it in SP with equinox nowadays. To scan cats along the way with increased chances of genetic codes and - it takes a few minutes depending on the amount of cats. Thus i sometimes get some steel essences too ;)
If you have any kind of job where you could just pick up an extra shift, then there would be better ways to spend your time and you could instead do the stuff in Warframe that you actually enjoy.
You cant sell plat. But you can gain it while playing. Its fun not work. Its just another resource for progress.
Then again 200 plat n hour are possible.
I enjoy my job, but i enjoy farming in warframe as a compensation. Its a farming game after all. If you aint into farming you should probably take a few more extra shifts at work instead.
Of course the occasional platinum package or prime access is still neato. And refills the economy with plat again ;)
Sorry, where was I? Oh yeah- part of the issue as I see it is that there is a lot of luck or chance or whatever you want to call it involved, which can be frustrating. And that frustration doubles if it's something that feels like a job. I'd rather buy the plat and then farm a new 'frame or gun or sword or something.
But obviously it all depends on the person. I'm at a point in my life where time is more valuable to me than money (at least small amounts of entertainment-money); I realize for other people the situation might be different. For example if you're a student who's cash-poor but has lots of time on their hands, etc etc etc. I still think anyone who needs platinum should at least evaluate the benefit of a part-time job instead though. In a single afternoon of driving for UBER (or something like that) you can earn enough money to keep you well-supplied with platinum for months.
I have my way to speedrun capture mission to get Lith relic for 1m to 1m30s per run (Void capture but i forgot the node name).
OR Meso relic for 5minutes at io(Jupiter).
And i sell them directly. For lith usually 6:4 for meso and neo 6:6 to 6:8 . Yes it's dirt cheap compared to you veteran dudes that has thousand plats.
Let's say 6 relic for 4 plat. I only need +-10minutes.
Rather than play fissure for 10minutes or more, hoping to get uncommon/rare OR to get prime frame parts and wait for any people who actually wants for it.
So, due to trade limit. I barely could make 30 to 36 plat a day by just doing a 4hrs gameplay including afk, eating, helping friends or so. Yea most people made thousand plat a day but I'm not on that level yet. But I'm not forcing or burning out my time.
Btw u guys talking about work shift, i don't work. I sell groceries. So can we consider that as a same things?
