Question about multiplayer activity
Hi lads, it's been a long time since I've played this game, so here is a question...
What kind of coop/PvE/PvP activity is there? Is this game good to find friends and for social interaction? Maybe I need to join a clan, what's your advice?
Thanks :)

The story campaign is mostly single player. Early quests give you the option to Co-op, but when the story actually starts going, it becomes single player only.

The main missions outside of the story are PvE with up to 4 players co-op. You can select public matchmaking, friends only, invite only, and solo only.

Pvp takes the form of the conclave, which has 1vall (free-for-all) deathmatch, 4v4 deathmatch and "capture the Cephalon" (CTF), and Lunaro, which is lacrosse, oddly.

As for your second question, the game is fairly socially driven. Finding a clan can be useful in finding new friends to play with, but vitally there are weapons and warframes that are "Clan tech" and thus need to be obtained from a clan dojo.

But overall, just play to have fun and achieve your progress, however you see fit. It's a fun core gameplay loop, but there's a lot of systems to grind out. Just set goals, work with friends old and new, and be the best Tenno you can be.

You can but not mandatory or not that necessary. Its depends on yourself, goals and situation. In the end, if you are someone who like learn and do everything solo then go for it, If you want to socialize and play co-op then do it.

Co-op is friendly "Drop in, drop out". Select a mission, game will check for available squads and put you in one or starts the mission with you as a host and other players have next 5 minutes time to join, in Endless missions next 5min AND before first reward.

I'm playing mostly with the help of Public Matchmaking. Sometimes with friends when I have social energy. Find a clan. There are gear items, weapons and warframes which you can't get unless you join a clan. If you like grinding then you could find your own clan but rooms and equipment may require plenty of resources and for a new player it can be pain in the ass.

Most quests are Solo-only. You are treated as a special Tenno with our story in the universe. Early missions until Jupiter are Co-op that work with randoms or friends.

The PvP is not a good scene, and as a result is quite dead. DE even ran a mini-event recently in PvP to earn some rewards (a snowball event) - even that was pretty dead.

The rest of the game, from early-game to late is still highly active. Obviously the really old content has a lot less people playing, but you will almost always find at least 1 or 2 people per mission.

As for friends. It's possible, but you won't make friends unless you try. More recently (i.e. the past few years) and especially since cross-play was enabled, people talk in Squad Chat far less. You will often go several missions without anyone speaking a word anymore, whereas it used to be that people would chat all the time and most missions (especially Survival and Defence) you would spend the whole time just talking to each other.

Not so much anymore. It still happens, but sadly a lot of missions are just spent in eery silence while you all just blast your way around.

You can look around for a Clan and join it, but you'll have to hope the players are active and have the same things in mind as you. You might make a friend or two that could show the ropes and help you out... however, my best advice is to try and get existing friends of yours to play Warframe with you.

Honestly, all my best time in Warframe has been spent playing with friends that also play Warframe, not people I met while playing Warframe. Just people that I know and that I play games with, and we just casually co-op in WF and grind together when we feel like it.

Clan/Friends is prolly best bet. Randoms or PUGS will peter out until mostly just doing everything solo at that point. When I first started playing 2014+, I enjoyed pugs, I enjoyed Kuva Survivals the most, got kuva, mats, helped people. Then maybe near end of 2021 boom, hardly anyone in pugs anymore regardless of the map, they stay for 5 mins and leave for its just 1 other just getting a little Kuva, or they are jsut unlocking star chart. A lot of the added content seemed to split players up more and more and ended up isolating me more. I had a private dojo and earned my own railjack before they were free so didn't wanna give that all up to join a clan sadly.

I found playing with allies or friends to be the best way to enjoy the game but as others have said, most of the story elements tend to focus on a single player narrative which is a shame. Joining an existing clan is a plus mostly due to having to use such resources and facilities to acquire gear and options not available easily elsewhere; and they can be quite the drain for new or players hitting it up more for fun rather than as a focused hobby.

Welcome back to the game.
