Uranus - Ur
I'm 60 hours in and still confused how damage works in this game.

I'm trying to beat Ur node on Uranus but simply don't have enough damage, takes over 3+ clips to down something.

Planet node suggests fire damage, which I've selected in my mods, screen shot below.

Are my mods really that bad for this node? What's the issue here?

Stormbringer, Infected clip, and then Hellfire.

This should give you Corrosive + Heat, which should chew through Grineer armor pretty well.

tried this order but same issue, takes 1 full clip to take one basic 30 red down, less if I get a crit.

impossible to complete the mission, get over-run quickly as im reloading 24/7

Have you been adding to the weapon's status chance? The Corrosive effect he was talking about specifically applies if it procs, which needs status chance to do so.
Also also, you are reaching the point where you are needing to apply Catalysts and Forma to weapons to keep up, which isn't recommended on the basic version of weapons as they are usually inferior. Maybe take some time to get a prime weapon or a Wraith or whatnot. Level and upgrade that, and take what you learned here into account.

...I just now noticed that you're doing this with a Karak. Ok, let's get you a better gun. Specifically, my very favorite kitgun - the one I still use to this day. It's a semi-auto rifle that lets you charge shots to do more damage and an AoE explosion. The best part is that charging a shot does not take any more ammo.

Go to Fortuna. Buy the Tombfinger chamber, the Tremor grip, and the Killstream loader. Craft each part, assemble the parts at Ruud Zuud. Level it to 30, and gild it.

This should give you a good, reliable primary semi-auto rifle that will last you a while, and should feel much better to use against Grineer in Uranus and elsewhere.

If you can get an Orokin Catalyst from the Nightwave shop, I'd suggest putting it in that Tombfinger - it'll turn the gun from very good into excellent.

Additionally, if you can get the Split Chamber mod for multishot on rifles, that will help as well.

Just a note that this kitgun would require rank 4 in Solaris United, as that's what is needed to get the Killstream.

Even without that, you'd need rank 3 in either SU or the Entrati family on Deimos to gild any kitgun.

Ah, good point.

Alternatively then, there's the Hek shotgun, whose blueprint you can get from the Market for credits. That's a monster of a shotgun, and may work as a viable alternative to rifles for a while.

For a good secondary, I can also recommend the Lex. It's a highly accurate, single shot, low mag pistol with a large amount of crit chance. If you're able to hit enemy heads, it will kill most enemies in a single shot if modded for those crits.

Now I'm truly lost

I got the Ignis, attached catalyst to get 60 mods and did the build below.

https://imgur.com/a/V1UVwcS

I can now melt standard mobs, but when the charger thing spawns that runs to the node, it has way to much HP, I can't dent him, maybe get 20% off before he detonates at node.

What am I doing wrong now? I even put viral to try deal with his stupid health but I simply can't.

Ok. Ignis is good. You may want to swap around the ele mods, though. Since the Ignis does base Heat damage, you want to take that into account when modding.

My suggestion, as before, is Stormbringer, Infected Clip, and Hellfire. This will give you Corrosive on top of lots of Heat damage, which should melt Grineer armor very well.

For Corpus I'd suggest Stormbringer, Cryo Rounds, and Hellfire. That will give Magnetic and Heat, which will bring down Corpus shields quickly and melt the squishy parts beneath.

I've come to realize that Ur, Uranus is a Dark Sector disruption. This means he's fighting infested.

To that end, I would suggest maybe coming back to it, or else doing it on public? Other players can cover some of the parts where your own gear is lacking, but besides that, unless you're trying to unlock Steel path (you shouldn't be yet), or farming for specific mods and relics, you don't need to clear that node at the moment. If you're also finding yourself in trouble, do remember this is a gear-based RPG. If something seems insurmountable, take some time doing content you can clear. Research mods and builds you can use, and due Warframe's unique Mastery rank system, maybe grab some weapons you've never used before and rank those up to 30. By raising your mastery rank, you'll get access to newer, better weapons, as well as having an easier time ranking syndicates and whatnot.
Dark sectors (nodes that have % bonuses in the tip card) are more for a later thing. Circle back after you get more power to round out your build.

Get some frames, get some guns, melee, master them. Increase your rank. Each account/mastery rank is +1 mod point to your gear.

If you hit a wall then put your effort somewhere else easier and circle back when you have a couple upgrades. Orokin reactors for your frames and catalysts for your weapons is the first big step to double mod points, then go for forma.

More mastery rank means more guns unlocked and better benefits for you. Don't wanna grind XP? Go to Helene, Saturn on public and do until wave 10-15. Your gear will easily get 20 levels. It's also an uncommon chance to farm orokin cells while doing it.

I'll also just say that demolysts are pretty chonky compared to pretty much any enemy in the same area. You can always return at a later date when you do have better stuff.
Demolysts aren't exactly a great 'benchmark'.
