My thoughts about the "1999" Update
Before I start giving my thoughts about the update, remember that's the point of view of an individual whose purpose is to share some of the nuances found in the Update with the community. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

First of all, DE told the community that the KIM System would be completely optional, which turned out to be a LIE when it dropped, the player was not only forced to join the KIM at each Reputation Rank Up but also to get the "Alternate Finale" and Rank 4, you need to achieve the status "Liked" by all the Hex members (according to my experience and the Wikia, just read the "Chemistry"[warframe.fandom.com] Section). If you are in doubt about their statement, just check Devstream 183, the timestamp is 46:20.

You can also check this forum's link to see for yourself: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1428378-romance-system-is-not-optional-if-you-want-to-rank-up-the-hex/

I've noticed that since the "New War", the game's lore has been diverted from its original theme (the Operator's development from "just a child" to a "Warrior") to the "Power of Friendship Love", where "to defeat the imminent threat (The Indifference), we must show the love that blossoms in our hearts, that will defeat all the Evil". I've noticed it since the game went under "new direction".

The "1999" Update was hyped so much by the Devs in that "train section" in the "Whispers In The Wall" Update, and when they delivered the "1999" Update, I found that there was only a one-hour quest while the rest of the Update is merely side content that bears no relevance to the game. To think that DE said it would be "the Warframe's biggest Update Ever", the ARG they did was much more enjoyable than the Update it was promoting.

It's shameful that the community waited almost 2 years for an "overhyped" update whose 90% of it is merely side content, as far as I'm concerned, people open Warframe to play Warframe, and not "Caliber Chicks".

Bravo!
I was at max chemistry with every Hex member, finished the finale, and had the pizza party before pursuing romance with Eleanor. So that's just false. You don't have to romance anyone for anything.

The newly awoken Tenno's journey to something like adulthood is marked by growth in empathy. It starts with rescuing Teshin in The War Within, and continues through Chains of Harrow and The Sacrifice. Growing empathy is a pretty clear indicator of growing maturity.

We got a new story quest with lots of cutscenes and voice acting followed by a huge new tileset with two new enemy factions, and a ton of new music. It's not a single concentrated burst like New War. It's more like Fortuna, Deimos, Duviri, and Entrati Labs intro quests. Later we'll be hunting Coda techrot adversaries. It is not a small update. It is a big update. By many metrics, it is reasonable to call it their biggest update yet.

I am not talking about romancing, but rather the interaction through the KIM system as a whole. Rebbeca said we "wouldn't have to do it at all", but to get the true finale and reach rank 4, you need to talk to them through the Chat. Read my text again and you will see.

Also, you can head to the "Chemistry" section of the KIM system in the Wikia [warframe.fandom.com]

bro the update is literally made so u have to be friends with the npcs, and the update is not even finished they gonna keep adding content to 1999, they never say this was the end of it is ok u dont like it u dont have to play it me personally i love it, i love the hex members they are all cool i love the guns the tileset the new enemies all the new songs and the arcanes to grind
You do not need to interact with the KIM whatsover besides the rankup chats (which are like 2 dialogue options with zero consequences anyway), just do bounties and you'll build up the Liked chemistry.

The reason the plot has diverted to a different theme is because the Operator's arc has finished and now Drifter steps in. Sure, the "poison to your plan is love" is a ♥♥♥♥♥ out of left field, even if it directly references what Lotus did, but I can appreciate the "sum of all and by them driven" direction. After all, we may be a god walking the System, but we're not everywhere at all times to take care of everything.

I do agree though that for an update that was hyped for so long it is quite shallow, which isn't helped by Coda Liches being delayed.

Obviously there will be more, but they were hyping up this update as the whole thing, not just a taste of what's to come (which was the beta instead).

DE gets as excited about their updates as we do, then together we all over hype it all

the music also pulled alot of hype and still does

Are you even reading and seeing the links I've provided in the post? You do ned to interact with them, you gain chemistry through the bounties, but to a point, and then to earn more you are forced to talk to them in the KIM system.

Look at the "Chemistry[warframe.fandom.com]" section of the Wikia, it literally says that you need to talk to them to get to the "Liked" status.

Yes, having to be friends, but for that, you shouldn't need to be forced to interact with the KIM system, which Rebbeca herself said in the Desvstream 183 that "you don't have to do it at all, the bounties will give everything you need", which turned out to be a LIE.

Still, you didn't get the point, go read the topic again, so you can see that this was an overhyped update that added little to nothing it was promoting. Nt only that, but Rebbeca herself lied to the community by saying that the "Kim System" was entirely optional, which is wrong.

bleh
Pretty bad stereotyped inclusions if you ask me. If I want a Latina boss btch snapping at me in the stereotypical Latina boss btch fashion I would have played GTA6.
You literally just pick one of 3 options until they stop talking to you. You don't need to be scared to interact with fake fictional characters.

Look, read the post again, this time with a critical point of view, then you reply detailing what you don't agree. We good?
