Auto parry is auto lame?

Seems to me a better use of my time than dodging some attacks that barely do any damage would be to spend that time shooting whats shooting at me. Or am I missing something that makes it a useful mod?

The absolute worst part of this mod is that it prevents you from shooting while its proc'd. I installed a level 2 version and I immediately uninstalled it after one mission because it was so annoying.

Hopefully melee 2.0 will actually make it useful.
