Is it worth keeping normal weapons after mastery
I'm talking about non-prime, relatively easy-to-get weapons like boltor, kraken, paris, etc. I rather like some of them (idk about the kraken tho) but I'm out of weapon slots and I don't have anything to trade for plat.

Hoarding is a part of Warframe.

based on the weapons you have, dex sybaris and akzani are your only good weapons, so when you get better versions of the ones you have you can sell them. also you can go to question chat and type "is <weapon> worth it?"

Worth it? Well... the only thing I can think of is that some weapons are needed to craft other weapons. So it might be worth it to look into that. But generally you master them and sell them to make space for new weapons. Try not to sell your old warframes though, especially not the ones that are hard to get or ones you only get from quests or ones that take a long time to farm - you'll need one spare of each non-prime warframe later on, and it can be a hassle to get some of the harder-to-get ones back again if you had gotten rid of them. Same with weapons actually - some of them you only get from a quest and then it's a big hassle to get them back again. Heat sword, for example.

Are you able to see all of my weapons? I thought the akzani was outclassed by the dex furis.

I would never sell the heat sword, love that thing

Nothing wrong with selling old weapons you can easily get again. Those are probably the lowest priority when deciding on what to keep.

Before you sell weapons to have open slots, check whether the weapon is an ingredient for another weapon. For instance, some handguns are required for the dual-hand versions.

Defenitly do what @Darth Burger suggested there: there's a nice flow chart on the wiki showing you what you can upcycle into more mastery fodder.

As for hoarding stuff: do whatever you feel like doing, really. I'm still having my Veldt and my Hystrix even though they're easily outclassed by the rest of my arsenal.

But @Pakaku is also right: if the stuff is trivial to get and you haven't put any forma or potatoes on it, you can just sell them for space and retrieve them on a later date.

Also, looking at the things you listed: whilst the Prime Variants of the Boltor is hard to get, Paris Prime is afaik in permanent rotation, e.g. the relics never get vaulted and you can easily upgrade it. Same goes for the Kraken: if you haven't engaged with the Kuva Lich system yet, this might be your motivation to get the better version, the Kuva Kraken.

After you get through the really early part of the game, there is no need to have the "best" of anything until you start getting into steel path or maybe an unlucky sortie roll. Most weapons are still viable enough to get you through the majority of the game, and riven mods are specifically balanced around the idea of evening out the playing field for weaker weapons. It is also realistically possible to just hoard every single item you've ever crafted; if you do some trading and sell your spare prime parts/mods/etc, you will have a steady influx of platinum that can accompany the crafting. Plus, you can still get free slots once in a while through things like these dex event weapons, twitch prime giveaways, etc.

It really depends on your in-game budget. If you're hurting for plat and slots, I would keep only a few of your best items for different situations (say, a sniper, a shotgun, a bow, an automatic rifle, a semi-auto rifle, and a launcher) as well as something that is a favorite if not really the best in anything. And also worth keeping in mind those items others mentioned that can be used in crafting something else
Every weapon is best weapon when you feed 11 forma into it.

(I like to change builds sue me)

But even more so that you can name weapons. My mains are all named Stupid Prime, as they are quite stupid, indeed.

Not really. Unless the default version has a property that the "superior" variant lacks and that was the main selling point.

I usually tend to sell weapons once i get their superior counter parts. If it got primed, kuva'd or tenet'd - thank you for your service, but it's time to say goodbye.

If there are future variants you can acquire down the road, or already have, just get rid of the weaker ones after mastery. Just make sure before you toss any weapon you look up on the wiki to see it's a needed item for another weapon to be built.

For me I try to keep one of each weapon. Sometimes two from the same family of weapons like Cernos Prime and Proboscis Cernos since they are different enough. After that it just comes down to if you want to keep said weapon yourself. No need to horde them if you don't care.

The only weapons I've kept around is Hek, Phantasma, and the mission reward melees, the rest have come and gone
KrazyOne Apr 17, 2022 @ 4:40pm
Only items worth keeping are those that you need for other weapons or you plan to use them. Otherwise they are just taking up space tbh.
