you can also get one pretty regularly as a sortie reward.
Your main source of endo is probably going to just be trash mod conversion. Take one of the looter frames out for a spin (nekros, hydroid, khora, ?? others have a ++ extra loot ability) and grab all the mods you can find (here again loot detector marks them on your map if you kill at a distance).
**this is on your pet, of course.
Every rotation you get a chance to get Endo or Ayatan Sculptures.
Rotation A - Endo x900 - 44%
Ayatan Ayr - 9 %
Ayatan Sah - 9%
Ayatan Valena - 9 %
Rotation B - Endo 1200 - 44.5%
Ayatan Piv - 12%
Ayatan Vaya - 12%
Rotation C - Endo x1500 - 33%
Ayatan Orta - 20%
Other then Arbitrations, Sorties can give you Endo x4000 or Ayatan Anasa Sculpture.
Also the new weekly Archon Hunt gives you Endo x8000 or Ayatan Anasa
You can also scrap extra duplicate mods for Endo.
And just keep an eye out as they can spawn randomly in any missions.
Sorties! You can also obtain Ayatan Sculptures from sorties; the Anasa Sculpture (also known as the Orokin Trash Can) has a 28% drop chance. When fully socketed, it is worth more endo than any other sculpture.
Once you've cleared the starmap, you can start doing arbitrations. Arbitrations drop a LOT of endo and sculptures (as Ghost helpfully points out above). Arbitrations also drop several other resources that will help you transition to more advanced content: Vitus Essence (for galvanized mods), Adaptation, Aura Forma blueprints, and lots of sculptures and endo. (And you'll need that endo for ranking up Primed, Galvanized, and Riven mods.)
So my advice is, right now, you should do sorties regularly; doing a few every week will get you the resources you need to grow your power and prepare for deeper content. Work on clearing the starmap whenever you feel like it; once the starmap is cleared, keep an eye out for arbitrations that look fun or provide bonuses to frames and weapons you like.
Most of all, I encourage you take your time, and try not to be too "goal-oriented." Warframe is more a journey than a destination, and trying to "finish" all of it is like trying to drink from a fire hose. Good luck, and have fun!
Arbitrations drop most ayatan statues, but if you dont have it open or dont want to do it, Zariman bounties drop endo a lot and often.
You can farm Ayatan Sculpture from Arbitration missions.
You can trade Ayatan Anasa with players, usually it cost only 10 Platinum each.
Every mission have 50% chance to spawn an Ayatan Sculpture around. You can run all missions you do with mods that gives you extra Loot Radar, mods like Loot Detector, Primed Animal Instincts and so on, the Ayatan Sculpture will show on the mini-map the same way as crates, so it's good to have some AoE that can break crates, like Limbo's 4 (Cataclysm).
The way I like to farm for Ayatan Sculpture is playing Syndicate missions, since I'm going to hunt for all medallions, I often find a lot of Ayatan Sculptures. Now that DE released Zariman and there's the Plumes to hunt, I also often find a lot of Ayatan Sculptures.
It looks like Ayatan Sculptures are rare because it's hard to find, but it's only hard to find because you aren't looking for me, usually you are speed running missions and you don't take the proper time to look for it.
So... Yeah, start the Endo farm.

VITUS ESSENCE.
