Why is everyone looking for Deep Freeze mod now?

read the title i made a fortune on all those mods i had accumulated till today, still dunno what gun you guys use it for

They're just a basic elemental mod for pistols, far from rare.

Deep Freeze was moved to a rare mission-reward-only drop (Spy, some random but not all Corpus intercept, or Late-game endless Grineer missions, so both Pathogen Rounds and Deep Freeze, half of the basic elemental secondary mods, are behind rediculous drop chances. Frostbite is more common than deep freeze, and that's just sad.
So, it's mostly new guys that can't find it off enemies that don't frequently play spy (as Loki is no longer a starter and Ash is somewhat far away now), and of course don't play Corpus endless because pub matches are harder to find there than for grineer or dark sectors.
Sure, it's the only worthwhile D-polarity secondary mod, but if you want magnetic or viral damage, it's either this, or hoping for nightmare missions or another Spy 2.0 roll.

no you guys don't understand i'm sure there's some build for some gun that needs that mod but i can't find any, i was thinking of a blast-based weapon like angstrum but new/noob players don't bother with weapons like that, so im kinda lost now

Well...Viral= Toxic and Cold damage so you know.... not like Viral is 1 VERY important elemental against high level enemies or anything.

Well...Viral= Toxic and Cold damage so you know.... not like Viral is 1 VERY important elemental against high level enemies or anything.

i don't usually use elemental combos so dunno, i prefer raw physical dmg :D i still think it has someting to do with one of the newer guns

Has nothing to do with the new guns, elemental combos are crucial for high level missions just saying. You can't only rely on physical damage.

yeah but i have never once seen anyone try to buy or farm for a deep freeze mod before u 17 and at the time of the update i had about 20 extra i sold all for 10-20 plat which is ridiculous if you ask me, you don't just pay 20plat for a mod that you may or may not use, you gotta have a purpose for it

And that purpose it to make viral/magnetic/blast elemental combos on secondary weapons, without using a nightmare or event mod. If you don't use elemental combos, then you aren't aware of the up-tp+75% damage multipliers for the combos, or significant status proc effects.

I didnt say IT IS PWE influence , i said its SMELLS like...
But do you really think they will go on with the developement, like they have done so far, forever? At some point they will start milking, look at other games PWE was involved with. And if they do it smart, sowly and gradually its will be hard to notice, and i see a few signs for that.
But as i see it they might need the veterans, like in this case - veterans have thosse mods on stock - make them hard to get - what happens - price of mods will rise on market - many players might be willing to buy them instead of grinding for them - win for DE
Ofc all this is specualtion - but the money is in charge on this world - so that is a possibility, especially with someone like PWE involved
