from hwat I have seen it is only worth using on your favorite frames and even then put some consideration into making it as the bonus is rather small

These are the only mods that can be put in the utilty slot:

Lightning Dash
Firewalker
Ice Spring
Toxic Flight
Patagium
Mobilize
Rending Turn
Battering Maneuver
Percing Step
Handspring
Master Thief
Rush
Aviator
Sure Footed
Retribution
Shock Absorber
Heavy Impact
Thief's Wit
Enemy sense
Maglev
Warm Coat
Intruder

Now ask yourself this:
Do you see yourself using any of these, if some aren't already in use in your regular slots?
And do you have extra available points to even put a mod in there (otherwise you'd need to forma your frame to free up mod points). So is it worth it, a must-get? Not really.

This utlilty slot is a minor convinience for longtime players who have the time and resources to spare. What frame you use it on is all up to you, personal preference. Obviously I'd recommend the free adapter you get from Natah quest on your favorite most-used frame who has a benefit with one of the above mods.

Still haven't seen the drone that supposedly initiates the quest, so I wouldn't know. Maybe it doesn't truly exist, except as an image to lure you to play another 500 hours.
Yeah, i was talking about the free adapter, but, if i want another one, i shouldn't build it..

It exist, but only on Uranus, in submersible missions

To start the quest, you need to scan one of the drones that you'll see in a mission, with a basic codex scanner, then it will initiate the mission, don't try to shoot it, he can't die

It's easier to sell some mods for the platinum to unlock in than to actually craft the thing.

On Nekros? My Nekros has 2 Forma+Reactor and it would require another 2 Forma to free the points to put anything good into Exilus slot. My build is focused on Despoil+Shield of Shadows combo and requires a lot of high drain mods (like maxed Primed Continuity, Fleeting Expertise, Equilibrium, Vitality). So Nekros is probably my most drain-heavy warframe, even without utility mods.

If you are ok with formaing Nekro 4-5 times or you use low-drain build - go ahead.

They can spawn in any random mission. It's RNG if one may appear at all.

People say Uranus because: it's a new tileset + new farmable boss = high concentration of players there at the moment, resulting in high notifications of probe sightings.

I just did a syndicate spy mission an hour ago, I got 2 of them right next to each other.

I finished the quest long time ago and got 20/20 codex scans of them. They will still randomlycontinue to appear. You will know they have spawned by hearing a pulse sonar noise (like a submarine or whale makes) followed immediately by a deep echo. When you hear that, start looking because one spawned nearby and is scanning corpses (and apparently chests too, looking at the screenshot).

A fast way to start the quest instead of waiting for these probes to appear, look for people who have it unlocked but not finished the first mission yet. The first mission requires you to scan 2 of these drones to proceed. When the host invites people with them, they also get 2 chances to scan them to unlock it for themselves.

The host should then abort the mission, so this can be done again and again for others. I have done this for 2 weeks for clan members before finally progressing myself.

This is wrong. The drone can appear on any planet. There is simply a higher chance of the drone appearing in your missions if you have completed submersible Uranus missions (this was confirmed by DE on twitter). I've heard of people having the drone spawn for them on pretty much every planet.

As I explained above, just make sure you do all the submersible Uranus missions (or as many as you can). It won't take long for the drone to spawn if you do.

I have 4 of those adapters in place already and i also formad those frames again to be able to use that slot to full extend (slow frames like Frost and Rhino, without arcane vanguard, benefit greatly from that slot with rush mod!!)
Besides rush, i think handspring is a very very good mod to put in there, handspring has been a livesaver for me in many situations! But i guess you are right, its a luxary for longtime players to have that - for others it might be just another grind on top of everything else
WalterREQUiEM Aug 15, 2015 @ 12:45pm
I don't think getting them from simaris or the market is really worth it, I just put mine on Rhino P and I don't think i'll go out of my way to get more.
Kawalorn Aug 15, 2015 @ 12:48pm
Personally I see the use for them only on the slowest frames like Frost and Saryn so you can put a "free" Rush on them. Need to think harder what to do with the rest.

I just use Thief's Wit on all frames :spycon:

Same here. Helps a lot in Syndicate missions when some of the collectables decide to glitch and turn invisible, since they're considered loot and will show up on the radar.
