if that speed increase makes the DPS higher than the one with higher base damage then you get speed.
*All* the Mk1 weapons are inferior versions of the regular weapon. But they can be bought for credits.
Get the MK1, level it up for Mastery, sell it, get the regular version. Don't waste plat for a slot for it though.
Along with this, higher damage also increases the chance of killing an enemy in a single shot. Since bows are silent you can use them to gain massive affinity boosts from stealth kills to rapidly level up your equipment (level 20 corpus missions for instance, you can get around 2000 affinity per kill on some moas), as well as easily run spy missions which offer huge affinity bonuses for aquiring data without being spotted.
If the firing and pull-back speed on the Paris bothers you, you can use fire rate and reload speed mods to speed those up significantly.
But others suggestions are a good one to go with. Get the Mk1, level it to 30, then trash it and use the Paris, then later on run some void missions or buy some platinum and check in trading to get hold of the Paris Prime, which is one of the few weapons in the game capable of red crits and is even able to 1-shot some bosses making for speedy resource and frame farming.
