What exactly makes Loki prime so expensive?

Beside the fact that hes been vaulted for ages.
Ive always used Loki prime for spy mission etc but now after i realized after ages since i am dumb that Octavia prime is a way better spy frame way longer invisibillity always recastable and always reusable and shes way cheaper so what exactly is so great abou loki prime besides him being vaulted for ages i dont see any point in using Loki Prime anymore now XD

It's probably as simple as: Ppl who have the parts, sets a price, and those intersted in buying them, buy them...
When I started the game, 200 plat for ANY Prime Frame was dirt cheap.... So I don't get why sub 200 is consIdered expensive..
But that's, probably, just me.. :)

Earlier on in Warframe's life, Loki was the best frame for melee or stealth, hands down.
He's been the poster-boy for stealth/melee gameplay in Warframe probably since his release in late 2012.
When his Prime version came out, he was ridiculously popular. If you were to run public at that particular time, a high saturation of missions would feature at least one Loki Prime wielding Orthos Prime while invisible and slicing entire rooms to death at once (back then Reach added a percentage of the melee weapon's range, instead of a flat amount. This meant that polearms could have absolutely ludicrous range).

That, and his name make him a very sought-after 'frame. Add the fact that he was vaulted in May of 2016, and has since only been available for 2 periods lasting 2 months each (1 in 2018 [this one was only from cetus bounties] and 1 in 2019) since, and you've got all the ingredients you need for a high-priced commodity.


P.S. I just looked up the price and had to cross-reference with the price of some other prime 'frames. I didn't realize they were all so much less expensive now-- I would have thought Loki Prime would fetch like 450-600 platinum, but he's listed for 185. Interesting.
(For anyone curious, the other 'frames I looked at were selling for ~48-118p)

Loki gets unvaulted during the down time in Warframe as such people already have it or never bother to farm for it making parts harder to get. Not a high priority frame to farm in the first place to boot.

Simple answer Supply and demand issues.

Do you have sets for Loki prime? Then sell it cheaper.
But you don't, so that's how things are.

Its good that the prime variants arent as expensive like they used to be. Otherwise people would never play Ivara or Equinox and other frames with long/ annoying missions.
