It's a good/decent weapon - up there with the Soma (base) and the other crit reliant light machine guns. And the super high ammo consumption will do that to you (so, so very often, sadly).
It does, however, need three plus forma to really shine. The fact the weapon has no base polarities does make the thing a chore to make good use of.
You make me want to paint my Warframe red and run around with three Grakata's (one as my melee weapon) and a Gorgon and scream; "Waaaaaagh!/DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA!".

Literally it's a Soma Prime with slightly less DPS and quicker reloads/more max ammo.
