Ahem, I consider nikanas very inconsistent weapons, take the nikana stances as an example, it has some of the worst moves in-game. Ranging from fancy swordplay with awkward move sets that can get you immobilized (tranquilling cleave and blink justice) to almost uncontrollably neck-breaking sudden momentums (decisive judgement and blind justice). Meleeing on the move often cause you to miss the target since there's a split second when you have to unsheath your nikana and then attacking. Swords in the other hand have much moar straight forward stances that can be fancy but useful non the less.

*these are only my personal thoughts on the weapons~

I find that unsettling. Dragon Nikana is supposed to be an upgrade to the Nikana.
But their stats aren't that far apart from each other.

Meaning Nikana Prime will be an upgrade over Dragon Nikana, which I find is a tad bit illogical.

broken war is the best one handed sword sort of weapon in the game, no contest. sadly. not that dragon nikana is bad or anything, it's certainly a capable weapon.

Dragon Nikana has like 5 points less damage compared to Broken War. Dragon Nikana has higher Critical damage and 5% more status chance.

They are basically the same. The next thing is to compare stances but I never use a melee weapon only so I don't care about that aspect.

yup thats the truth there. Though there are some that are better then others at their respective job, like the galentine that thing is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MONSTER, I had cleaving whirlwind in it for the longest time till I snagged tempo royal for 100P, now its overhead explosive strikes for days.

pretty sure you need the base nikana for the dragon.

Crimson Dervish and its 300% dmg multiplier means that Broken War will hit hard. It is superior to Dakra Prime in fact. Dragon Nikana to me has some nice looking stances although Blind Justice for example has awkward hitboxes.

yeaaah I wish I could find a better nikana stance but blind justice is all I have found...have like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 30 of em

A lot of Dragon Nikana's stance mods have combo's with built in finishers, meaning that Nikana stays relevant for a lot longer than Sword against highly armored enemies (Grineer) or those with a very high health (lv100+)

dragon nikana has a 2X crit multiplier while the broken war has a 1,5X crit multiplier. For some people makes it the dragon nikana better. (but i still prefer the broken war)
