"Alias already taken"
I tried to register account in the game, and encountered this. Thankfully it accepted same name with underscore, but it is still means that there's somebody running around in this game impersonating me.
So how'd I get all Liam Nisson on his ass? didn't found any search by aliases on the website or in the game menus yet.

Oh wow. Darth Biomech himself decided to play Warframe. About impersonation - unfortunately, there is no way to combat it, game follows the rule of finders keepers. You could always do what Sips did and just add underscore to your name, informing everyone who knows you that Biomech with underscore is the real one.

Happens in all games. 123, asf or "kirito" always are already taken.

It's possible that you had an account years ago and completely forgot about it.

I know I've done that on a few occasions.

How is that impersonating, exactly? I can try to put "Alex" on my alias and it's obviously gonna tell me it's taken, but that doesn't mean someone is impersonating me.

I think he talks about Darth Biomech and I personally know only one Darth Biomech. Not to mention that Alex is different from it.

Alex was just an example. I have tried worse things and they still wouldn't work. Anyways, even if there was only one Biomech, that doesn't mean there can't be two. If he still believes it's impersonation, suing is always an option.

Here's another example. I do, in fact, believe that there can be only one Vulbjorn (not Vulbjörn, mind that, without umlaut) because it's something very, very close to me and essentially this name came from... a very unusual place, to say the least. If I ever see another Vulbjorn anywhere - I will immediately go into defensive stance and consider it impersonation, so I see where Biomech is coming from, and can sympathize.

I also do find a possibility of Darth Biomech's name being taken because someone knows/follows him very high. In any case, I don't think anything can be done here and I'm pretty sure DE won't force namechange that another Biomech, because it would be, well, rude.

Well, suing is a big and extremely agressive jump, and I doubt anyways, that it can be won over an web pseudonim. I thought at first just try to find the guy and attempt to persuade him to change his alias to something else, to avoid confusion. If he refuses - then we can start talking about getting medieval)

Some nicknames like "adsf" or "123" or "megadestructor98" are pretty common and meaningless, yes. Not my case, at least I couldn't find any Google results on ""darth biomech"" or "darth_biomech" that WEREN'T related to me. And this case of "username taken" is the first one I encountered since I took that username more than a decade ago.

Only that he's a popular modder/modeller on Space Engineers part of the universe and is a graphical designer with works that I find to be interesting.

(P.S. So, if we could somehow grab Biomech and fill him to the brim with interest in Warframe, he probably would start making Warframe related stuff, that I probably would like to see. This is a hint)

I'd also like to point out that alias editing will cost 200p for that guy, so I'm not sure how he can be persuaded to do it willingly, unless someone points a gun at his face.

This can no longer be considered "willing compliance", but at least it's not medieval. Mostly because guns did not existed during medieval ages, though.

Siege crossbows are always an option.

Considering that they got the name before you, seems like you're the one trying to impersonate them.

Any proof that they choose their nickname in 2005 or earlier? The forum on which I used that name first is not alive anymore, but my DeviantArt page is still here and kicking, registered in 2006.
