How does firestorm mod affect ignis

No idea what firestorm mod does for ignis since its a "beam" weapon. However firestorm says it affects the blast radius and i was wondering the effect since wiki only goes on about increase radius to tonkor, penta and other explosive rifles.

It just expands the cone. Thicker... more girth. Third weiner joke.

It affects it in the most hillarious, idiotic and insane way possible. Ignis already has ridiculous range - it expands it so much, you will be hitting objects behind you, 10m away and it becomes roughly 50m long, about 6-8m thick stream of flame. It's incredible for status builds.

About hitting stuff behind you - I'm not joking. After it got buffed I decided to forma it a bit. Aimed at enemy infront of me, pressed the trigger - next thing I hear, is explosion somewhere behind my back. Apparently it managed to damage the barrel that was standing like 5-10m away. Flamethrowers of pure magic. Safe to say, Ignis is now one of my favourite guns.

@Vulbjorn thanks for the info ill have to experiment this with my friends videoing it. ALso another question do the range mods stack with each other like for this case firestorm + sinister reach.

Haven't tested Reach myself. I know that Firestorm makes the beam stupidly thick, so I think Reach would just elongate it. I'll probably test it in a few moment.

With maxed reach, you can basically shoot people in the next time zone. I'd go firestorm though. Less ammo consumed when a wider area is hit and having both would take away some punch.

I haven't put my 4th forma on it yet but with a rank2 Sinister Reach + Firestorm, the fire range is outrageously wide for a flamethrower.
