I've set it to become my dedicated Infested weapon, as it looked like a Line Gun like you've said. I fitted it with Gas and Slash and need a third Forma on it to fit what I want. I like the weapon, and it does solidily on 40+ waves of ODD, with random crits hitting upwards of 12k damage ontop of the constant high damage.
Alternate setup is for either Corrosive or Radiation, to cut through Grineer better. Don't care, it's a good gun just like the rest of my nearly 200 guns.
Convectrix good.
I want to love this gun, but I don't think I can right now.

What I was expecting from was something like two standing lines that remain on the outside when using primary - then focus inwards and into a single beam with alt-firing. Not the weird angle we have currently. And actually has better transistion between the two modes. I want to feel like I'm cutting down things with laser scissors. Cause reasons.
Maybe this is just me - and maybe I haven't used the weapon enough yet. Eh. My two cents.
900 oxium
5 fieldron
20k credits
1 Forma
and something else that I can't remember
I've really wanted this gun since it got announced but I really don't like getting fieldron so I'll just build it when it eventually comes. Doesn't seem bad though, Like a phage for people who aren't into the whole bio-weapon thing and with a better damage type.
The idea of clans is that you have more than one person contributing to research, either join a clan with more active people or one that has already completed all the research.
Personally I have my own clan and have done all the research pretty much alone, to make matters worse my original clan mate made the clan have 100 slots of which less than 10 are used so research cost is much higher in resources. However as I am very active I can collect all this alone and once research is done then it stays done, now people join just to access the clantech and TBH I have no problem with them taking a copy of research blueprints.
As to fieldrons I didnt bother running any invasions I just used the fieldron bp from the clantech to make fice of them at 12h hours each is 2 and a half days to wait. Not waiting is what costs plat, if you are patient then you can get pretty much everything except slots for weapons and warframes in WF.
As to the weapon itself, I too was disappointed. It looked good on the stats but having the beam start 90 degrees from where you are aiming is a pain and the magazine size is too small to just keep it firing like the phage. I made it then levelled at Draco after using a potato on it and it was only at level 20 odd that I actually tested it and discovered its stupid spread problem. I too thought this would haev been better as a line gun/Wunderland Treatymaker (two disintegrator beams one which suppresses the charge on the proton and the other the electron, resulting in massive electric dischage between the two subatomtic fogs produced, clearly the WF weapon designer read Larry Niven too) but instead is was a good weapon for shooting your own ear instead, very sad

(I said counterpart because they released it as a bundle.)
Convectrix compared to Sonicor, Convectrix is just gimmicks. While Sonicor is unqiue in its own way, while performing excelently disregarding Impact was its only damage type.
The thing with the Sonicor is it's entirely based on a gimmick and really isn't suited for killing enemies, so why not just bring a practical weapon? I built and potato'd the sonicor because I thought it's mechanics sounded interesting but it feels really sluggish against a crowd of enemies. I went back to my Mara Detron just because it can demolish a crowd of enemies lightning fast and then be done with them.
