Until then, unlock planets, upgrade your mods and your mod setup on what you use, and do the sidequests along the way.
If you really want to know the story, you can look up some videos on youtube. Go find another game you enjoy playing. There is no shame or resentment in it. If it's not for you, then it's not for you.
For example, i was very interested in EVE at one time. The lore and scale of it was very appealing. But just trying to get through the tutorial of how the play, literally put me to sleep. When I woke up, I uninstalled the game.
I completely disagree especially post Second Dream where they actually start focusing on the story.
To OP: People half-joke about pre-Second Dream being an extended tutorial, its "half" because its actually accurate as that's when the actual story starts coming into focus.
I mean I personally enjoy things even before that point, but its definitely when the narrative starts coming together and the game shifts towards Action-MMORPG.
I'm not XianE, but I'd say yes. There is character growth and progression with all characters involved with the quest Natah onward - sometimes in overt, sometimes in subtle ways. Hunhow, the Stalker, the Lotus, and especially the Tenno grow and change in rather interesting story ways through the quests.
Like, if you've finished all the quests to current, what's hinted at with several characters (Hunhow, Lotus, and Stalker) is almost as interesting as what the Operator & Drifter are dealing with lately.
