So Warframe:1999 is not open world…
Apparently as stated by Rebecca during last dev stream 1999 doesn’t come with an open world. How we feeling about this?

Same. They're all the things people typically don't like in those open worlds. I don't think open world ever really suited Warframe, or played into why Warframe is so fun.

If anything, they've brought variety and some sense of scale. Fishing, mining, hunting, bounties for extra "mission types", and compared to Lephantis that's locked in a tiny arena it's a hell of a moment to take to the skies during a Hydrolist and really get a feel of how big the enemy you're fighting actually is.

That said, an open world really doesn't suit 1999, even with the bike and especially if the archwing would be allowed.

I'm glad i'm tired of them pumping boring open world maps so it's a good news.

Meh you're acting like boybands are something specifically of the 90s and that's the only thing there. It's pretty similar to Us Cracks in Cyberpunk. While a case can be made for the existance it still feels out of place and very specific. Lot's of different music and styles and influences in the 90s and this is what they went with. That's what makes it kind of sad.
Not really specific but rather fitting and recognizeable. Like, I know ♥♥♥♥-all about boybands, but if you told me in irl 1999 they were all the rage I'd say "Yea that sounds about right."
They were for people of 12-14 years of age. Which is a very specific age group. I should know. I lived through the 90s as a teenager. We had a lot more going on than boybands. And let's be honest. boybands were (and still are) looked down upon by the majority. Even though there were some popular boybands it was mostly reserved for young girls. = simps. There was a LOT more going on in the 90s than just that. So it feels like they just took the lamest part of the 90s is what I'm saying.

You have to bear in mind that a lot of the WF devs, and most importantly the current Creative Director grew up in the 90s and early 00s.

It's not that surprising.

Which is weird because Rebecca was born in 1990. She knows very little of that time actually. It's just Rebecca thinking this is a good idea, but not actually knowing anything about it. shrug.

I grew up in the 90s. I find the Boyband Infested thing quite amusing. Song's pretty good too. But another thing I remember about growing up was how weirdly tribal people were about music tastes, making it a major part of their identity for some reason.

Fits the infestation rather nicely really.

So there's no new open world where I can fish?

it still grinds anyway like Entrati and Zariman , not make any different.

that's funny , because last Devstream clearly showed modded warframes transforming into proto-frame and vice-versa

i already chuckle at this Fact
That's a showcase of the Gemini skins for the Origin System, being able to transform into the proto-frame at will. They just used a 1999 tile for show.

Unless they said the skins are for 1999 as well, which fair enough if they are.

only 6 of them for now, Excalibur, Volt, Cyte-09, Trinity, Nyx and Saryn, more to coming depends on how well of this Gemini skin sale

Considering it takes place in a city, I wasn't expecting an open world location.
