I think MR 30 is quite possible in 1000h or less if you are hellbend on it and purely play for Mastery and grind instead of fun. (Though these 1000h might have to spread over a year or so because of build times.)
5690 hours. Uhm..>5k for MR30.
But you cant compare that. For a long while of that, MR12 had been the max.
So people where "stuck" at that, and then step by step as there where more things to get MR from, the max level increased. And you hit max again, but that doesnt mean we stopped playing. (else i wont be here now neither)
Max level increased-as did the level speed. Today its without exaggeration a good ten times as fast.
So yes, you will see people around 1k hours who spend all of their time in ESO and hydron, usualy with frames like Wukong, Rhino and Inaros, "noob prime" as most used. MR 30. Speed leveled to the top, maybe caught a few eidolons on the way but in the end utterly clueless about the game.
Thats why MR is not a direct sign of "veteran-icy".
There is "some" correlation, but its not a one to one relation.
MR30, Stayed around MR19/20 for the longest time before making the final push to 30.
My Free 2 Play account is at MR 10 with 107 hours played. With very limited slots as a free player and all my slots coming from rewards for Twitch Drops, Event Rewards, etc it has been a slower progress since I need to rely on free sources of the Companion, Warframe and Weapon slots leading to lots of playtime re-leveling after Formas and Gilding during April/May for the first 3 weeks of the 8th anniversary event. Started that account just before Tennocon 2020 so had some extra access from the Hydroid Prime and some free weapons but never really played the account until the 8th anniversary event stated when I went from MR 1 just getting to my Orbiter after the completion of the "new" intro mission.
As a truely free player the MR grind will be slow especially if you come across enough items you want to keep after maxing their level and need to earn more slots to start new things for the MR grind. Willing to buy slots/spend money/plat and the MR 14 range can be done in 2 weeks fairly easily depending on the time played of course at the higher MR ranks. Think MR 20 took me 3 or 4 days to earn the progress after doing the MR 18 test and not bothering to try the MR 19 test for the 4 Days after the MR 18 Test. Was 1000 points shy of 19 when I did MR 18 and had enough when I did the MR 19 test to instantly be at the requirement for MR 20 but had to wait 24 hours for the test.
