That's how I seem to remember the similarities.
There are no engrams or loot drops (at least not Destiny style), you farm blueprints, and materials to turn those blueprints into equipment via the foundry. With very few exceptions, all gear is static, a weapon will always behave the same way at base, no random perks. You only have one character, who can use any class/equipment they want in any combination. There is no central hub like the Tower, the Relays fulfil a similar role, but there are several of them which are mostly identical and you don't spend much time in them.
There are no playlists or Challenges for you to focus on, you just play whatever node you want to accomplish whatever your goal is. There is no sunsetting or content rotation, other than some live events all the content and story remains in the game. There is no seasonal or even particularly regular story updates, the story progresses whenever it gets made. In general the story is not a big focus of the game, other than doing the main quests once you don't really have to think about it. There are no dungeons or raids that require multiple people; there is harder content that is meant to be done with a party, but you can get powerful enough to do everything solo, nothing literally requires a party. Public matchmaking or not is set by you, nothing other than quests are forced solo.
There is technically PvP, but extremely few people do it or care about it, and I don't think you even get any rewards for it that can be used outside of it. Movement is way faster and you don't just die if you fall off a cliff. There is no Power system, how strong you are is strictly determined by what equipment you use and how you mod it.
I was never hardcore into Destiny 2, but I'll give this a shot. Let's start with similarities, and easy associations, and then I'll move into differences. I'll keep this as direct as I can.
1. Both are 3rd person shooters. In both, you're running through missions to collect loot,
shoot enemies in the face, and get stronger.
2. Both have a wide variety of weapons to get your hands on. You can get weapons from vendors in both Destiny 2 and Warframe.
3. Both games have an overall solar system map to choose planets and their missions from. Both unlock new areas to explore as you progress.
4. Both have a secret item vendor that shows up periodically. In Warframe, it's Baro, and he only shows up every 2 weeks rather than every week.
Ok, now is where it gets fun - where they differ.
1. Both are 3rd person shooters. However...
a) in Warframe, new character classes (the Warframes) are unlocked by defeating bosses, getting Warframe parts, building them, and then buying the Warframe blueprint itself from the in-game Market for Credits. Some Warframes are gained from quests, but most Warframes you have to find and build in your Foundry.
b) Destiny 2 includes guns with random stats you have to manage and build on. In Warframe, those additional stats come from the Mods you install, not the weapon itself. Modding in Warframe gives you much more variety for building a weapon how you want. There are meta builds, but there are quite a few variations on those as well.
c) Most weapons you'll find the blueprint for, or purchase the blueprint for from either the in-game Market or a Vendor. In both cases, you'll have to make the weapon in your Foundry.
2. Both have a wide variety of weapons. However...
a) Warframe's melee system and variety of options are very, very good.
b) In Warframe, you choose your Warframe, a Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapons to bring with you on a mission. You can also bring Companions/Pets with you, and there is a good variety of those as well.
There - I edited quite a bit there to keep it as straightforward as possible. FWIW, the Destiny 2 streamers Mactics and BakaGaijinGaming both put up their experiences with Warframe on their youtube channels. You may find their reviews helpful.
You could be that person! Fame and fortune await you Tenno/Guardian!
