This Dojo Room has Child Component
Like a steely eyed greenhorn rookie, i turned my dojo into an amalgamous, deformed, grotesque construction site, to be able to seamlessly transition from the old layout to the new layout, without having to go without labs for days or weeks on end.

today i found out that these rooms are permanently locked together. i played myself.

is there ANY way to get around this somehow?
have DE ever adressed this or said theyd be working on it at some point?

As far as I know you need to remove connecting rooms before the one you want to remove. That's intended.

yes.

what i mean is, i connected my dojo in a circle, and it doesnt let me take random bits out of the circle even though everything is still connected to the central hall

Have you tried removing the last one you built first?

The game creates a mental internal order that you have to remove the rooms in, even if it *seems* like they're not dependent on anything.

In order to remove things you'll *generally have to go in reverse order. Though it's possible changing your spawn rooms might aid things.

You'd think making things in a circle would help trim down on changing the dojo's design but it makes it worse tbh. Straight lines are the way to go.

Uhh, here. Lengthy video on it that more or less explains the concept in 2 minutes:

its not a circle, bro just didnt understand so i made it simpler.

Over the years i neglected it, looks like spaghetti now. But ive also formed a solid crew, making it important for me to fix that right up.

so where nothing is in the way id set up the new layout until running into obstacles, connect everything, and then gradually get rid of the old stuff until everything is replaced.

the spawn point is something i have not attempted yet, but it seems i need to cause a ruccus at the next devstream about this.

Time to start over... I think you can leave a solo clan and kill it off.

Here is my map, if it helps... all the shops in a little cluster, clan and reactor rooms, railjack access takes up a lot of space. Its pretty bare bones, but the old straight line and a couple of teleport terminals gets it done. Note that I have room at the shopps to add more or take a 90 degree hallway if something else is added.

While the clan halls aren't required any more, I still recommend using the grand hall and the grandest hall. Faster build time and less forma. (Also less rooms taken up and better capacity, if you ever think you'll be decorating a lot in the future)

Here's how I've planned out my roughly solo dojo.

I'm not into decorating, but I'm planning my dojo for it in case I ever become a decorator or one of my friends wants to do it. I'm also keeping most of the basic stuff far away from the decor because... hopefully it'll help with lag but who knows.

The blue area compacts all the basic stuff a dojo would want, and you can move the observatory down further if DE adds more labs.

I did have to make generators at the bottom first, but the only thing that will be unavailable for a bit because of it is the observatory.

I think a spawn point would help in your case. A grand hall, grander hall, orokin entrati hall, or infested whatever it is can be set as spawn rooms, and then you can probably take some stuff down in reverse.
