He's being overkill, but it's not like there's no truth to the statement.
When DE decided to 'stand with Ukraine' and banned most of Russia's trade partners from playing warframe, they did not ban China. Y'know. Russia's largest trade partner.

It's the same deal when it comes to pride.
We have pride month, character representation, and a diverse moderation community who quickly shut down any phobia related to pride.
At least, we have those things in the non-chinese version. When it came to that, the developers methodically cut out every instance, word, and scrap that could even be interpreted as pride-adjacent to China.

Is that because they're partially owned by a Chinese Company?
Or does their activism stop when it comes to making money from China's market?
Regardless... they won't cross China.


It's not like it's unique to DE, though. Most companies won't stick to their guns when it comes to foreign markets.
Take that spiderman 3 modding kerfluffle with the pride flags being removed.
Everyone was mad at the guy who made the mod, but the developers did far worse when they made a middle eastern version of the game and shipped it out.
