I'd imagine that the wiki would take into account the base 100% resource drop chance modifier since it is impossible to play a steel path mission without it. So with an additional drop chance booster the max you can get is 4% chance each eximus unit since warframe loot abilities do not affect steel essence drop chance either.
DE recently added a change that made Mod Drop Chance boosters affect it.
You dont see the essence really start to drop consistantly until around the 30 minute mark, but after an hour I had about 24 or so usually... when i also had a resource drop chance booster as well i was getting about 50+ after an hour.
The derelict survival is good since the start of the map is usually the same tile, and if you get lucky and the only entrance into it is up on the right you can dump your domes bellow that and the enemy just spill out over the edge like lemings and you can just whip away without any real issues.
Gets boring as all hell and your fingers will complain but doesnt take to long to all you need.
The drop chance is increased to 4% with a booster.
What he said, with patch note quote to boot.
