I got my first lich by accident just like you, I got mad, because I didn't wanted to do that, and I didn't wanted seeing how he was stealing my resources even if it was a tiny bit. But when I realized that you can convert the lich to make him your ally, I took my time on farming him until I fianlly can beat him, instead of killing him I extended his suffering by making him my ally and he sometimes helps me in my missions when things get serious, it's nice having the help of your kuva lich, it feels special I don't know.
So yeah, you can keep complaining, or decide to farm him and decide what to do with him and after that, never ever touch a lich again if you don't really want them.
Taking down a lich these days takes ~4 hours on average. I'm the man who grinded this ♥♥♥♥ until i got every kuva gun to 60%, i know.
To be fair - i'm not counting getting requiem mods. I can imagine grinding them could be tedious, but even then it takes about 1 dedicated day to get all of them in spares.
Just commit like 1 day to grinding requiems until you get 1 of each and then just hyper-focus on lich's sectors. Public, preferably, as other people making attempts on their own requiems grants you murmurs too, which greatly speeds up the process.
You'll be done with the guy in no time.
Cringe.
All this being said, it's par for the course for the developers of warframe. They've been chucking new mechanics into their games non stop since the beginning to keep their jobs and keep people busy and, so far, it works. It's even become part of the charm of the game, it's full of weird ♥♥♥♥ that you have to have the impetus to look outside the game to figure out. So, if you enjoy the actual gameplay, stick with it, they certainly are not going to stop putting unexplained systems into their game any time soon.
Atm, there's a Wolf Beacon as the [NightWave[/i]'s offerings that allows you to instantly recall the thing upon a mission once you use it. I'm also trying to get rid of my 1st Kuva Lich that way, even though knowing that I'll be forced to do some 'RailCrap' *Errm* RailJack mission(s) to kill it for a 2nd and final time. That 2nd portion royally sucks, imho.
I find it funny how people complain at the last part of killing the lich when it's the easiest one form the entire lich process. You don't even need an end game railjack to do it, the enemies are easy as hell to kill and you will spend most of the mission inside a grineer tileset anyways. Railjack literally acts as your transport, hardly anything else. If you get an AI crew member you can just waltz through it because the crew member will kill everything with the turret.
are you talking about this top down shooter?

The one I got, by acciddent, the same day the were released...
Nowadays you can always opt out, by not killing the Larvalling...you didn't have that choice at first.
For about the first week, if a Larvalling spawned in a mission you played, and it died, by ANY REASON...you had a Lich... And nothing you could do about it...
It took DE a week to implement the system where you actually have to make a decision (by shanking the Larvlling), if you wanted one, or not...
Do now it's totally up to the player if you gen one...or not.
Sure, the weapons are somewhat ok...some are even great...
But, personally, I don't the extreme grind is really worth it...
But now at least, I can opt out from getting another one...
But I still think there should be an option to abandon one alltogether.
There used to be talks of a system for that, but DE backed out of it, and I still don't know why...
I mean, it wouldn't hurt anyone if they added that feature...
Why not?
I mean it doesen't take anything fromm ppl that like the farm... But it adds alot to the ppl that don't want to do it...
I don't rellay get why some ppl can't see other ppls 'needs'...
The 'git gud' mentality of those who likes/can do things is very annoying..
And just because someone, like me, don't like some mechanics in some games, then the reasoning is' Don't play the game. It's not for you'...
I mean, one can like...even love exactly everything else...
And why should a system that lets ppl abandon a Lich harm the ppls that wants to farm them??
