similar to mass effect 3 multiplayer ? and what else is ?

as title, i've always loved mass effect 3's multiplayer (4person horde mode with guns & powers, usual f2p style gear unlocks/levelling) but i'm looking for something similar on pc to replace it, to spare me a huge download is warframe what i could be looking for ?

would also appreciate suggestions for similar - used to play global assault and i've heard defiance is similar but couldn't get into it, till "the division" comes out is there many 3rd person destiny-alikes on pc ?

yes, this is like me3 mp but with bigger maps and faster pace. unlike destiny though this is not a loot game.

If your looking for a 3rd person destiny like game(loot game), maybe dungeon defenders 2 or diablo 3?

1st person loot games like borderlands series.

This is... almost entirely a loot game, actually. You got quests and events which dispense lore (and loot) , and the gameplay is pretty much based around getting the next shiny thing. Grind XYZ to get ABC, rinse and repeat. It's loot-driven for sure. Not really that cover-based, tho. More parkour-y than cover-y.

while we can use cover, we don't have the lovely cover mechanic that there is in Mass Effect, it's entirely manual.

There are more than 2 good assault rifles in this game (whereas ME3 has harrier and PPR and that's it)
same goes for every other weapon type actually.

cloak is also OP in this game, but thankfully they aren't cancer like TGI or AIU

While I'd say the game is somewhat similar to Mass Effect thematically(as well as Metroid Prime), the gameplay itself is far more comparable to Borderlands.

same, i still do play but it's a bit long in the tooth and i'm looking for an alternative - doesn't really seem to be any on pc with the same mix of cover, powers and classes for a co-op horde mode.

will see what division is like but i really wouldn't mind if masseffect : andromeda turned out to be a f2p based on me3mp (blasthemy i know !)

Also ME Andromeda won't be f2p because EA is allergic to having it's customer pay less than $110 for their game. =[

Erm... How is Vermintide similar to ME3 multiplayer, again? Aside from having 4 players on the same team and... Wait, no, that's it. Vermintide is, basically, Left4Dead with swords and magick. Warframe, on the other hand, is kind of like the ME3 mp, yet, combat here is much more fast-paced and movement is far less restricted; some missions are almost identical to the ME3mp's survival while there still are many more gamemodes here; game progression works in a different way: your weapon attachments play a far greater role here, and you don't just get creds from missions - you get some resources that you can use to craft new weapons and warframes, not gamble them as a random crate loot.

If you are looking for a game with a similar gamemode, try Gears of War 2's or 3's "Horde" mode. Basically the same thing, except you don't have any special character abilities.

As person with 700ish hours in ME3 and 1300ish in Warframe, I can say: yes, it is a lot like ME3, but more of everything. Thirteen maps in ME3 - against twenty-one tileset in Warframe, every map may contain tens of pieces, some of them bigger than any ME3 map in multiplayer. Six possible objectives in ME3(including standard "kill everything and do not die") against sixteen in Warframe. Tons of enemy types, hundreds of weapons, tens of classes with absolutely different abilities, boatload of mods to make it all more useful and fun. No retarded crates, you work towards and know what you will get most of time. Honest pay2skip model, probably best free to play out there. Tradeable premium currency, you can get everything but few profile icons without investing a single dollar.
