This information can be sourced from the Toronto Metro News website.
However, such information is only made public due to the acquisition. Le-you only issues consolidated reports on an annual basis and does not display a per-company breakdown of their P&L accounts. (Unsurprisingly).
Edit: Thought I'd add before people start jumping up and down at the numbers, I have no idea how much that actually means to DE Group. That could be a lot, it could be very little. Without actual revenue numbers (i.e. before costs) it's hard to tell if this represents a large amount of money or if this just covers a few months (it's also hard to tell how much gets reinvested immediately, money never actually sits idle).
Do bear in mind rent, employee salaries and developmental costs.
Even small purchases help f2p games like this keep going so I end up usually spending between £100 and £300 on in-game content as a show of support but have my friends look at me in disgust for doing it :/
Just remember guys, support the game and it will support you back by staying alive.
I buy plat regularly, just because this is a game I can enjoy, and if I enjoy it, well, I might as well spend money on it instead of some other game. (as in a new purchase).
tl:dr -> If nobody bought platinum there would be nothing to circulate through trade channels.
Putting money into any game is the same as investing in any other hobby. Gaming is a hobby and like you said, it's better to spend a small amount of money on in-game content on a game that you enjoy rather than spending a lot of money on a game that you might not enjoy or might not get the most out of.
At least it's not Warhammer figurines that we're putting money into......that's a damn expensive hobby from what I've heard!
But yea the more people that buy plat, the more DE can improve it and add new content so it's a win-win really :)
