If you're talking specifically the starters, Volt is probably your best bet due to his Electric Shield ability.

I'd recommend choosing Excalibur though, since he is still viable against lvl 60 enemies and beyond. Volt's powers drop off quickly. Dont know about Mag.

I would take Volt. He's shield could help you taking good position for sniping on big tilesets. Excal is more for his '4' melee build, and Mag is just Mag. DPS frame in most causes.

well, take excalibur, hes versatile and try to get ash asap :D

Volt can be one of the best def frames... but fir this he needs many mods....
Mag is super strong against corpus and orokin but is almost useless aggainst any other faction
And excal is without specific modding super good. high dmg with exalted blade[4]. CC with radial blind[2]. +extra movement with slash dash[1]

There is Ninja

Well, technically we are all ninja...

Well, Ash is pretty Ninja-like with his abilities: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Ash

If you want some sort of invisible Ninja then Loki: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Loki

And those are not Classes, those are Warframes and no warframe restricts you from using weapons, use every weapon you want :spycon:

I wouldnt put too much thought over which of the starter frames is 'better'. If you play this game for long enough and start to build a collection of warframes, Excalibur is by far the hardest to farm and build, whereas the other 2 are really easy. You'll soon farm another frame to replace your starter anyway

Two best snipers are Ivara and Banshee. Banshee can light up crit spots and silence the area and Ivara, if using stealth weapons, can basically just walk through a level completely silent taking people out. Seriously, .04 energy drain per sec on prowl. (I know they are not starters but just wanted to throw it out there)

I would pick Excalibur. You can craft Mag very early and Volt is a lot more fun with some higher level mods. Excalibur will carry you from beginning until whatever and you'll feel like a boss when you can finally stay in Exalted Blade for a long time and destroy everything

You can craft the 3 starter frames as you play, so your early choice won't burden you with whatever you pick.

I feel like Excalibur will be your best bet, simply because it is the most versatile starting frame. You'll be reasonably sturdy, you have easy knockdowns, a blind and a good 'oh crap' aoe. Good for almost every role!

Jeez, no, go with Volt, and be at peace. It's the starter frame that is likely to last you a while, and it has decent to above average built opportunities without the derelict/corrupted mods. You can easily switch from mostly offensive, to something that's more defensive and has support-value as well. The other thing is that you can get both the other frames easily without going for clan-research (which is easy, but takes a while if you don't join an existing clan). Excalibur is all right, but will bore and annoy you to tears if you don't have some fairly specific mods to put in. Mag, imo, is very underrated. It's difficult to play well, and it's difficult to create the really good builds. But it can be very, very powerful in specific situations with some maxed out type builds. Mag also works really well with the syndicate mods, in a way that for example excalibur doesn't (i.e., the syndicate mods are neat, but will be made for situations when you don't use sonic boom that kills all at super-speed with no effort, etc).

Volt is no ninja or sniper, though. So might want to aim for Loki, Ash or Mesa. Hoodie is going to be neat if you can get it later on, but the drop-rates for parts and bps are extremely low.

If I may suggest an early-obtainable Frame and not specifically a starter Frame, it would be Banshee. Her abilities sync well with weapons that favor accuracy and range, such as bows and snipers. Check the wiki for more info. :happy_creep:
