I use this build and she's awesome... well, I subsumed Mag's Pull on her 4th ability and basic Continuity works just fine on her.

if its anything under SP you can pretty much run the basics and what you want (:
They tend to not think about a build as a whole and are probably the type that builds viral on a nourish build.
But [Healing Flame] is a better [Purifying Flames], you don't have to expect others. Plus, duration doesn't benefit much for Ember's other abilities.
[Firewalker] post so little benefit in battle, a personal fun mod that shouldn't recommended to others.
Having no range with [Pull] as a subsume ability is waste of slot, if you run high duration build there's other abilities to be better choice. (like Nezha's fire walker, it has Status Immunity of your liking)
And [Archon Vitality] is a must on Ember.
Theoretically and systematically, this build needs more working before it recommended to others.
Like you said "Your game, your build and I mentioned you don't need anything super fancy unless idea is to go Steel Path but OP didn't say anything about endgame build.
If you like it, 160-175% range should be fine and use [Exothermic] if you run out of energy often.
If you like tanky stuff, go 175% efficiency and turn on [Immolation] it's also better if you have [Healing Flame].
Or just get all in one with 2 strength mod 2 efficiency mod 2 range mod [Continuity] and [Vitality]
The other is a it's a Rage/HAdrenaline caster tank, which is bit more midgame friendly and low investment but fun and effective for Ember accessible stuff. Healing Flame is great to make a health/energy loop. The overguard is great for lower level stuff, so you can bust out an aoe weapon and just go nuts.
