Seriously hoping for some reworks...
I'm going to be honest, I didn't watched the whole Tennocom stream. I just don't like to be overhyped and then having to wait for moths or even years to get the update, I prefer to just see things when they arrive.

But a friend of mine told me about those protoframes skins for Excalibur, Volt, Mag, Nyx and Trinity and...

Well, if we can actually use the "human" characters, I guess it might add a cool new layer of cosmetics. But I'm concerned about the state of those six warframes.

We can't deny powercreep has been a thing for years, and this game has many years of service already. New warframes have good armor strip, good damage, self healing, survivavility... they are pretty well balanced and very powerful compared to old ones.

So my point is some of those old warframes are not in a really good state now. Exalibur is ok at best, Volt is still great, Mag got some upgrades lately (I still think she lacks an actual niche and has too low survavility) but think about Trinity and Nyx... Those two warframes have to be two of the most outdated ones.

Does anyone who saw the stream can tell me if they said something about reworking those frames? I would really love to play Nyx again (was my favorite frame when I started the game, but time hasn't been kind to her) and Trinity is way outclassed by any other support right now. I want a reason tu use those skins but I'm concerned they might be tied to extremely niche frames.

Unfortunately I don't recall which ones exactly got called out - but they did mention a re-work was coming down the pipes for one of the Protoframe related characters (in one of those "this has been a long time coming" tones; I want to say it was Nyx mentioned but not 100%).

1999 is still a little ways off, and so I believe that will launch with some light re-works at least, but not sure how substantial it will be as they also mentioned another new frame (literally mentioned it but no detail until JP Game Expo).

Which - I am sure they will go a little more into detail about the re-works during that event as it was what they where holding some other information for (sounds like that will be a huge announcement day).

That's a good new actually.

It really hurts watching Nyx's current state. All her abilities are outclassed by other warframes. And I'm not even saying that without a reason.

Mind control is outclassed by Xaku and Revenant (More mind controlled targets, extra utility).
Psychic Bolts is outclassed by any armor stripping frame (Only six targets vs unlimited targets, mostly).
Chaos is outclassed by almost every Mass CC ability, but specially outclassed by Loki's Irradiate Disarm (Radiation can't be nullified and can affect a few things other abilities can't).
Absorb is outclassed by Wukong's second ability (Can't remember the name of that one) and is likely to be outclassed by the Stalker when we can play with him more consistently.

On top of that, Nyx being a psionic themed warframe has seen other warframes get abilities that should belong to a psychic warframe. I mean... Nyx can't even levitate (Jade can) and she can't stop bullets wit her mind and send them back to enemies (Mag can). Those are kinda cliche abilities for a psychic, yet she doesn't have them.

I think they should allow more targets to Mind Control and make Mind Controlled enemies do armor strip to the enemies they attack. Turn Absorb into a moving focefield with no mobility penalties by defaul. Get rid of Psychic Bolts and replace it with some kind of telekinetic attack. Get rid of Chaos (Save "chaos" for the madness themed warframe we will eventually get over the years) and turn that into a mobility skill.

Those changes would fit her theme much more and put it on level with more recent and well balanced frames I think.

Well, for now I can only wish.

Nyx was my favorite Warframe of all time. And I do enjoy melee/invincibility quite a bit.

But she isn't that fun to play, or quite what I wanted the psychic Warframe to be.

I kind of wish they'd rework her Ult, or the mod that adjusts it to be more like Kerrigan from HotS' ult. Something more mobile and fun to the game of today.

It's just the Vivergate veteran's memorial update

I also made a droideka build with her 4 augment. I think it's one of her very few "viable" builds and I'm being too generous by saying viable. It's more like an attempt to find an excuse to play her.

I wish I didn't needed an excuse to play her again. I just want her to be just as good as the rest of the frames.

Meanwhile, Loki sitting in his corner all like, "someday I'll get a rework, they gotta update me EVENTUALLY, right? Right? Hello, DE, you forgot about me for like, 10 years. I need some sort of change. Please... Even ash got more love than me."

Loki surely deserves a rework too, but at least he works around invisibility wich is a pretty strong mechanic, so it kinda compensates a bit.

But yes, just because he works as a one trick ponny doesn't mean he shouldn't be updated.

By the way, how many years since the last stealth frame we go? Now that I think about it... was Ivara the last one?

DE said during the stream that Trinity and Nyx would receive a "light rework".

(Now, I think DE also previously used the term of "light rework" for Inaros'... Which turned out to be a little more than "light".)

The last actual stealth frame was (arguably) Octavia. But voruna has an invis ability... Technically.

Loki is the polar opposite of frost as far as actually getting reworked. Frost is the most reworked frame in the game, Loki... I think they tweaked the values and changed like one ability one time 8 or so years ago... He's lucky he even got augment mods...

I liked the Inaros rework. I wouldn't be mad if they did something similar to Trinity and Nyx. But I stope for a heavy rework instead. Those ability kits are way too outdaded.

I would have argued that Ember is the frame that most changed over the time.

Overheat, World in Flames, Accelerant... Do you remember those?

But yes, Loki definetely needs some love.

I was counting every time DE has touched a frame, tweaking values, changing or swapping skills, full reworks, etc.

Snow globe alone has more changes than any other skill in the game, go check it's history. Frost is like playdough and they just can't get him to hold a shape for long lol.

I think Nyx is one of the characters I keep looking for a reason to play as.

And the next is Ivara. Between Eidolons being difficult for her, artificial damage caps on damage, and lack of mobility using her main feature (in a game all about spamming jump slide/bullet dodge), I struggle to ever really be able to run her in content.

Yes, that's true.

And Snow Globe still doesn't click in my opinion. Each time the shield bubble gets tweaked, they add a new enemy that mess with it. From Eximi Auras to enemy tossing grenades to new Jade Eximi, there is always something that bypass the shield and makes Snow Globe unreliable.

Call me crazy but I think on a fast paced game with high focus on mobility, there shouldn't be abilities that make you slow.

Prowl should probably be reworked. I like Ivara but also struggle to find a reason tu use her. Even as a stealth frame she is outclassed by Wukon, who is much faster and tankier. In fact, Wukong outclassing stealth frames with her Cloud Walking feels kinda cheap.
